The property's own website claims that the property has been refurbished to a high standard, but I saw no evidence of this. The room was small and dark; it had a small bed with a saggy mattress, painted woodchip wallpaper on the walls, a thin carpet over floorboards that moved and creaked as you walked over them, a TV (but no remote control) and a small, dingy shower room. The shower provided only scalding or lukewarm water. In short, it was like something from 30 years ago. B&Bs have moved on, but this place has not.
The staff at breakfast were the most inattentive I have ever known, serving my breakfast a full 40 minutes after I sat down. It was not a bad breakfast, although some of it had clearly been reheated and/or kept warm for too long.
