Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

January 15th-21st 2024. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tegid Cottage. We were greeted by owner Stephanie on our arrival, who was really friendly and welcoming. The cottage itself was beautiful, with views of the snow covered mountains. The lounge was very spacious with lovely deep chairs and a sofa. The addition of the log burner made it that extra bit more cosy on the winter evenings. The kitchen again was very spacious, equipped with everything you will need for the duration of your stay. The main bedroom was a good size, with plenty of storage, and the bed was super comfy and toasty warm. We don't usually sleep very well in an unfamiliar bed, but this wasn't the case in the cottage. We would have happily taken the bed home with us it was that comfy. The second bedroom we only used to store our photography equipment in, so we can't comment on comfort. The bathroom is the smallest room in the cottage. We found that it was best to have a bath, as the shower proved a little awkward to use due to the sloping ceiling and exposed beams. The water was always piping hot though, which was perfect for our bubble baths. We absolutely loved the Donkeys, Lily & Gruffalo, who live in the Paddock behind the cottage. We treated them to a couple of carrots each in the mornings, and a couple of ginger biscuits and a cuddle each before bed. We will definitely stay at the cottage again, and will recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the area. Thanks Stephanie, see you again next time. S&K

We had an amazing stay here. The cottages were very homely and we loved our stay. The location is about 10 minutes from Bala and tucked away amongst the beautiful welsh countryside amd the views are amazing.

Wow wow wow we LOVED this cottage. We've stayed in Snowdonia many times and this was by far our favourite. We instantly felt welcomed by the friendly owners, and felt at home the very first night. We woke up to amazing views and the cottage was in the perfect location for all the places we visited. The cottage was clean, very private and well equipped with everything we needed regarding bathroom, kitchen and the bed was so comfortable. There is a local co-op a few minutes drive in Bala town but we just got a Tesco delivery to the cottage the night we arrived - Easy! Can't comment on the WiFi as didn't need/use it. The dog enjoyed both the garden and courtyard and both were secure (and he's an adventurous dog!) Overall we look forward to booking up here again next year!

We stayed in Aran cottage that had wonderful views of the countryside watching the wildlife including birds of prey. The cottage is well equipped & dog friendly. There were a couple of things missing that would have made this stay from good to excellent. Having stayed in a number of cottages there is generally a welcoming note from the owners often including something as simple as a pint of milk (given its remote location) A call from the hosts to check we had settled in & that everything is ok doesn't go amiss. We also generally find a folder containing useful information such as local amenities (vets) & contact numbers, places of interest, good local walks, re-cycling system, appliance instruction manuals (heating), recommended restaurants etc etc - there was one A4 sheet of do's & don'ts. Previous guests normally leave some useful items but there were no cleaning products & only one bin liner. However the property & location make this an ideal hideaway. The wifi does not work but there was a good phone signal with 4G connection

Cyffdy is located off the beaten track just outside Bala. It is very peaceful and set in a beautiful location. The accommodation offers everything you need as a base to explore deeper into Snowdonia. The small park and complimentary football goal on the strip of lawn kept the boys entertained when needed. A great place to forget about the hustle and bustle of city life and we felt very relaxed throughout our stay. The fresh air and quietness ensured everybody had a great night's sleep every night!

We stayed in Beudy brics which was wonderful. This is a lovely cottage with a fantastic outlook across the countryside. Very peaceful. The owners looked after us very well and were very kind to our 2 children, whilst offering great informative advice of things to do in the surrounding areas. The cottage was clean, spacious and set in a nice private position. Overall my family and I had a fantastic time whilst staying here and we all agreed that we would love to come back one day.

We had an amazing stay at a Stable Nook. Babs welcomed us on the day, her communication was excellent, she took time to understand what we wanted to do on the holiday and advised us accordingly. The cottage itself is maintained to the highest quality, fully equipped and we had a wonderful and authentic stay. Thank you Babs.

We stayed in Beudy Brics, personally I thought it was the best cottage of the 3. We were amazed by the views and the actual cottage is so beautiful. All the rooms were clean and tidy. It was a shame that the fire place is now gas but never the less it kept us warm as it was really cold the week we went. Wifi didn't work but Babs and her son were very accommodating in letting us go into their house to use it. Babs is so lovely and was very helpful from the moment I booked the cottage. thanks Babs and family we had a lovely stay and we would definitely come back! Love the GirlBand :-)

We booked Shippon Roost to celebrate Dad's 70th and Sophie's 15th birthday, on a friend's recommendation. From start to finish it was the most amazing weekend! Bab's welcomed the early arrivals ( Dad and brother), whilst we travelled after busy day at work and school. All this was forgotten in no time, the facilities in the cottage are home from home. The scenery is off the scale. The activities available to all ages is unbelievable. We crammed so much into the weekend and we're still left wanting more! The walks were fantastic, the weather was kind to us, sunshine, blue sky and snow!! The drive over the mountain top to Lake Vyrnwy and Rhiwagor waterfall was breath taking. Bala lake railway was great fun and The Precipice Walk is a must. Barmouth was beautiful, so lucky to walk on the beach in the February sunshine. We cannot wait to visit again next year. Many thanks to Babs and Barry.
