Received free room upgraded; well decorated room in classic style with modern comfort, remote control lighting, flatscreen, DVD player with choices of DVDs; selection of magazines; plentyful 'in room' tea/coffee; good quality biscuit; wonderful fresh fruit salad at breakfas, best fruit salad, not just cheapy fruits or tinned fruits like at other hotels; very helpful proprietor; the hotel is opposite... more

Having travelled down from Northern Scotland we arrived 15 minutes before our pre-arranged time. We were met with the owner or proprietor telling us what an inconvenience this was for him and lucky for us our rooms were ready! We were then shown to our rooms which were of a high standard with lots of complimentary tea and coffee etc... more

Within seconds he told us that he was standing in for his manager who was on holiday, and that he owned 70 houses, 4 hotels and multi- million pound engineering business and so our couple of hundred... more

I was attending a reunion and this hotel was in an ideal location with regard to the venue of the reunion. The hotel was as per its... more

We book a large number of rooms across the country for our team, who travel in a specially-designed van (no bigger than a normal transit van). However, the manager of this establishment was extremely rude and in the morning on finding the vehicle, stated that it wasn't too be parked there again. He said that he'd had to pay compensation... more

The owner of this hotel is extremely rude and obnoxious and couldn't care less about customer service as long as he has your money. Having overpaid by £60 (long story) he started to get abusive and put the phone down twice. His words 'I am worth £6.5M and couldn't give a [--] about £60'. more

We booked the Norwood Guesthouse because it was close to the venue of a friend's wedding. On the phone a month before the owner made it quite clear that he was nearly full and he didn't need our custom but would 'do us a favour' by letting us have his last 2 rooms though he could not give us breakfast.... more
