Chose this pub for a couple of nights' B and B due to its price, reviews and proximity to dales walks. We were very pleased with our choice; nice rooms, very friendly service, excellent beer and good food. The Mason's Arms has three new fans from the north east.

Three of us stayed two nights B&B on a ladies' Dales walking trip and this proved to be an excellent base. Proper village pub that does not pretend to be something it's not. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. John the owner really looked after us. Good, well kept beer and lovely, wholesome, home cooked food - if you want... More

We stayed on a Charity Cycle trip and were pleased with the service and hospitality offered. Good Food, nice Beer, a proper pub atmosphere in a secluded area away from the main Gargrave 'A' road. Clean rooms with all the amenities and good information as to when and where everything was located and at what times food was served. Many... More

What a lovely friendly pub in the delightful village of Grasmere. We nearly a lunchtime breakfast for four but I couldn't persuade the rest of my party as they were more keen to get on with a walk up Malham Cove. However we did debate this long enough to enjoy a wonderful pint of Signal Main Line from a new... More

My husband and I stayed over the Bank Holiday and were really impressed. Service was excellent, all the staff were very friendly. The room was very clean and cosy, with a good selection of hot drinks, and we liked the finishing touch of a towel, bowl and biscuit for the dog! The home cooked food was delicious (especially the fruit... More

The menu was so inviting........ The braised steak appeared to be so good but was as tough as old leather. No one appeared to ask if everything was ok or clear our plates away, no one was at the bar as we left so I had no one to complain too. Such a shame!

We have stayed at The Mason's Arms on numerous occasions now when visiting family in the area and cannot fault the rooms (we've probably stayed in them all by now!), the breakfast (as well as the full 'Yorkshire' breakfast, they do a mean smoked salmon and scrambled eggs!), the great pub ambience (wish it could be teleported to our village... I needed a room late notice on Easter Saturday and luckily just one was available. The pub was friendly and John and his staff were very attentive. Cracking little place to stay in a beautiful little village
