We booked two nights at the Chateau as a splurge after 2.5 weeks of smaller, less expensive B&Bs throughout Scotland and Normandy. The tree-lined entrance and exterior of the chateau are impressive, but the interior and the room left much to be desired. We had the corner room on the top floor, which felt like a cramped storage room where... more

My husband & I were travelling around Normandy and had not booked a hotel one evening and discovered this Chataeu which was in the small town of Cambremer along the Cider route. The grounds are lovely, the staff amazing and we a great last night in France. more

I choose Chateau Les Bruyeres for our wedding anniversary surprise for my wife based mainly on the description in the Johansens Luxory hotel guide and its location close to the d-day beaches and caen. I have to say although the overall experience was very good and we'll take away great memories of the place and the trip in general, some... more

This place has set the standard for us - the chateau is simply beautiful (not to mention secured and quiet). The decoration looks so casually thrown together but on closer inspection, a lot of thought has been put into it. The fact that both Philippe and Michele take a lot of pride in the chateau is obvious and who can... more

This place is great. We stayed for three nights in a room on the first floor of the main Chateau building. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. We ate in the restaurant twice and it was excellent. The staff were really friendly too - especially in the restaurant where the food is explained to you in enthusiastic detail... more

We, like so many others it seems, stayed for two nights at the start of our touring holiday. Being a cheapskake, I booked the single room with the double bed - and to be honest it was adequate, though a little cramped for the two of us. This hotel appears to be run as a hobby rather than a passion,... more

Thank goodness we didn't believe the negative reports! We stayed for 2 nights en route back to the UK from 3 weeks in France and would be delighted to return. It wasn't cheap, but I felt we got reasonable value. The welcome and ongoing interaction with the staff was excellent. Opted to speak in French and this was in general... more

Hotel is a bit hit and miss. The front of the house overlooks a pretty park including a long driveway, the back of the garden is very close to the stables. The swimming pool area is small but gorgeous. Our room was ok but rather small for the price. Some of the bits which give the place its charm produce... more

We stayed at Chateau Les Bruyeres the first 2 nights of our touring holiday of France. It was the most expensive of the establishments we stayed at, but the worst! The approach, grounds and exterior of the Chateau are impressive, but the interior does not live up to the same standard. I would estimate it was 'modernised’ in the early... more

We booked the Chateau les Bruyeres for the final two nights of our holiday and opted for one of the best rooms on the 1st floor of the main building, overlooking the main drive. The Chateau was easy to find and well signposted from the D50 road, with an impressive gated entrance. However the long driveway was very bumpy -... more
