We stayed for just one night, but had a great stay. The food was excellent! Staff were really nice and spoke really good English. The restaurant looks over the old mill, very pretty. We will go back when we are champagne shopping again.

I carefully stated when booking a room in this dated but pleasant hotel (where I have stayed many times before) that I would be needing a vegetarian meal. As I expected I was told this would be no problem. I repeated my request on arrival at 4pm. Sitting down to dinner at 7.30pm I was given a menu that contained... More

Overnight stop on the way down to the Alps. Off on one junction back on the next. Comfortable rooms, good car parking, pet friendly, ticked all the boxes. Booked DBB on hotels own website. Better value than late availability websites. Food excellent. Couple of supermarkets as you get into Barre to refuel.

We have stayed here before. It is a really convenient hotel, perhaps a little far from the motorway but worth it. The rooms are simple but very clean, functional and comfortable. The restaurant is excellent with good menu and quality of food.Once again we were not disappointed .Menus at 32 and 45 euros and the wine is reasonably priced . The... More

We had a very relaxed and enjoyable stay at this hotel. The food was very good and the ambience very agreeable. The hotel is a converted water mill and retains a lot of the original artefacts. Breakfast is taken overlooking the stream and water wheel. Overall a very agreeable stay.

We relaxed in this very friendly hotel in early September. Although part of thehotel/restaurant has been converted fom an old water mill, I didn't really get a sense of age - even though beams and bare brick evident in various areas. However, having stayed in a few very old places beforehand, of which the very kindest report would be 'quirky',... More

Stayed here to break up the journey back from Chamonix to UK. Excellent hotel. Nice clean rooms, great swimming pool out side and lovely surrounding countryside and french buildings. Would stay here again next time i'm driving to the Alps.

We regularly use this hotel as a one night stop over, as it is about half way between Calais and the Alps, and not too far off the motorway. The welcome is warm, even for our Labrador, the setting picturesque, with the restaurant overlooking the old water wheel, and the food simply exquisite. True, it wasn't cheap, but we felt... More

Spent a night here en route to Burgundy. Bedroom was fine, smallish and a little bland, but bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spotless with good toiletries, nice balcony. TGV line is quite close so some noise from trains. Restaurant very attractive, but somewhat understaffed even though it was only half occupied. Food was good when it eventually arrived... More

We stayed here for a weekend earlier in the year. The welcome at reception was warm and friendly, and the room was clean and bright, with a little balcony overlooking the gardens and pool. We ate in the hotel both evenings, and enjoyed dinner both times. While it wasn't cheap, (gastronomic cooking never is!!) we felt it was good value,... More
