Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Having GPS coordinates defenitely helps to find this little gem. We had initially booked one night, but smitten by the place and the welcome we extended for another. The room was basic but very clean and had a lovely terrace. We were lucky with the weather and were able to have breakfast (and dinner) outside. As mentioned in other reviews, the views from the Mas des Collines are spectacular and the peace and quiet of the place is rejuvenating. Highly recommend this place.

The perfect hotel for a getaway in a lovely, hilly area of Provence near some beautiful villages. The managers are friendly and efficient, and great cooks. The rooms are comfortable and tastefully arranged. Who could ask for more?

if you're looking for a charming place to stay, you'll be very satisfied. Don't expect big luxury, just a basic room, pretty old bad, bathroom is clean and provides you with everything you need. Hosts are friendly. breakfast is good (not an excessive choice of products but okay - maybe a good typical french goat cheese or something from this region would have been nice here) and the location is nice. walking distance (20 minutes) from Tourtour, the wonderful village you really must have seen! Swimming pool is also fine. Good, but maybe just a little too expensive since it's rather basic.

Stayed here four nights in mid-June 2014. Despite unfavourable weather the first few days, we loved the hotel. The rooms are basic, functional, comfortable. The view from our room (6) was amazing. Small balcony overlooking the garden, pool, and the landscape to the south. We didn't use the pool because of the weather, but it looked inviting and clean.
The staff was extremely welcoming. The daughter and mother were the only ones we had any contact with, and there was a genuine feeling of caring for their guests. The mother is extremely proud of her cooking, and rightfully so. We had dinner three nights and the food was excellent. Fixed price menu that included a starter, soup, main dish, cheese, and dessert for 25 Euros. Exceptional value. And the ambiance was very pleasant as well, with many of the hotel's guests enjoying dinner together.
The hotel is located about a 20-minute walk to the village of Tourtour on small roads, mostly uphill.
Highly recommend this hotel for its location, staff, value, and food.

This is a small, family run, hotel, set in the countryside close to Tourtour. Our room had a private terrace (great for the smokers of this world!), with a wonderful view over the Provencal countryside.

Dinner was excellent, being good value for money, with an interesting selection of Provencal wines. Service both efficient and friendly, and not rushed.

Breakfast was simple, but entirely adequate, and was served on our terrace.

Overall, a great find.

My wife and I spent a month touring France and this came out as easily our most favourite place. It is not a luxury hotel but we had top quality service, excellent food, comfortable beds and stunning views from our balcony.

Beautiful views and super welcoming host team. We had lovely 3 nights here including breakfasts which were delicious and one evening 3 course meal from the talented chef. The village itself is a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive away. We'd recommend to come to the hotel via the Villecroze road as the centre of village roads are very narrow, sharp bends and single track- so if you meet someone it's a little hairy!

Le Mas de Collines is set in a lovely, but remote spot, so having read the reviews we decided to give it a try! Big mistake! Unfortunately we arrived late, having spent hours getting out of Nice in the rush-hour so maybe that didn't help. When we arrived we had to wait for about 30 mins before anyone came to reception! The hotel is very old-fashioned & completely lacks any charm or ambiance, with the majority of guests being very old, I 'm unfortunately not that young myself, but I did find it a bit like an old people's home! Apparently the owners have had Le Mas, for 25+ years & I would imagine nothing has changed since then!! We had a set meal, all that was available & because we had our Springer with us were placed on a serving table, no idea why; but after a long day, frankly we were to tired to argue! The 'food' was passable at best, very uninspiring, although the wine & cheese were good! The room was pretty basic too! Anyway we thought OK not a good choice, but passable! So imagine our surprise the next day when the bill came to 250 euros!!!! Frankly incredibly over-priced, the hotel & food being worth no more than half that!!! In summary if you want to stay in a remote over-priced geriatric home then you'll love Le Mas, otherwise AVOID at all costs!

This hotel, recommended by a friend is a gem. Despite two minor criticisms, one that it is remote and hard to find, two that there is no kettle in the room, i still rate this as a wonderful, welcoming hotel, worthy of five buttons! The remoteness is part of its charm and the kettle is something to overlook when considering the other desirable features. Lovely place, lovely location, lovely proprietor, all lovely
