Highly recommended. Beatiful place with wonderful hosts and good food. The villages nearby aren't really special but la rochelle at 30 minutes is a wonderful place. more
A lovely house with beautiful bedrooms and a very warm welcome. We had one evening meal which was delicious, and Madame Renard gave us plenty of advice on places to visit in the area. Certainly worth a second visit. more
a lovely period chateau in good location and easily to find from map.The suites and rooms are very tastefully decorated and with the antique furniture make it a very memorable stay.The family Renard are helpful and very welcoming. more
The title almost says it all. My girlfriend and i had 3 fantastic days at Le Chateau de l'abbaye. Firstly it is not like staying in a hotel, you are invited to stay in the Famille Renard home - you immediately feel so comfortable - it is a home from home. Warm, welcoming hosts providing a very confortable "en suite" room and masses of info about the surroundings, activities and good tables.
