We took our first trip to Europe this winter and wanted to stay in a chateau one of the nights. We chose this one for the location and based on other reviews. It exceeded our expectations! We enjoyed a fabulous dinner the evening we arrived, which consisted of many tastes we had not experienced before. Our room (Jeanne d'Arc) was... more

We traveled to Chateau de Brou as a part of an Avanti package. It included a lodging for two nights, dinner at the Chateau one evening, breakfast each morning, and a wine discovery tour. The 535 year old Chateau has been well maintained and restored. The rooms are outstanding. We had a top floor room named the Balzac Suite. It... more

My husband and I were traveling in the Loire Valley with friends for several days. We stayed at a different Chateua each night and the Chateau de Brou was our last night in the Loire valley. This Chateau is truly elegant and beutiful. The service was outstanding, the food was fabulous and the rooms were lovely. The grounds around the... more

This is an excellent hotel and a delightful property. As other reviewers have said, it's set in extensive grounds, with deer and wild boars running around. You can walk/jog around the grounds and, if you're lucky, you'll get to see the animals. The staff are all extremely helpful and friendly. Not everyone speaks English fluently, but communication isn't a problem,... more

Greeted at the front door....by the time we had freshened up and unpacked a few things.....there was a roaring fire and a wonderful afternoon tea.in the lounge /dining room- ..brioche + lots of different jams... We decided to have the 6 course menu, which was brilliant, & complemented by a few well... more

This hotel was quite beautiful. We stayed here for two nights with our teenage children. The rooms were spacious and the decor was exceptional. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The first night we ate in the restaurant. We went for the five (or was it six?)course degustation menu, which was fantastic, and about the same price as having three... more

On the foot of tripadvisor reviews we stayed here recently for three nights. On our arrival at 2.30pm we were met by a rather agitated loud receptionist who informed us that our room was not ready due to it having been a very busy weekend. No problem we replied and went for a lunch in a local restaurant we had... more

all the other reviews below are true- this is a wonderful little place. We paid 115 EUR for the 'Belle de Bois Dormant' room and were not disappointed. the room was beautiful, with a great view of the grounds (saw wild boars roaming through the woods) with the toilet in a turret and the bathroom up a flight of stairs... more

We cannot recommend Château de Brou in the Loire Valley enough. We were looking for a truly special place for our tenth anniversary – ideally a beautifully restored château (small castle) in the midst of some great wine country with easy access to some historic sites and palaces. We found it, with an additional bonus surprise. The food was absolutely... more

Wonderful stay near Tours - Trip advisor member, Berks, England Chateau de Brou is a medieval castle with a very inrteresting history, and its chapel is a historic monument. Surrounded by a magnificent park where deer and game roam freely, the entrance is guarded by a huge cast iron gate that is electronically controlled and quite daunting.... We arrived one... more
