We stayed here for a night between connection flights. We found the "lodge" easily, but the man who answered the door seemed perplexed, perhaps because of language barrier or sheer surprise. Regardless, he welcomed us and showed us our room: a small room with ajoining WC. There was a television, a broken wardrobe, and a hotpot on the floor. There was no top sheet, but a blanket was folded on our bed.
Pros:
It served its purpose and the man and his wife were very accommodating when we needed information/wake-up call. Nice hot showers were also a plus. The bus system and train station are nearby, and a half hour train gets you into London central.
Cons:
We spent less than 2 conscious hours here, and you would definitely not seek out your room as a place of "refuge." An overwhelming odor of someone else's meals was fairly consistent throughout the home. The neighborhood is "savory"; its location seems to be close to the...
