Amastris Hotel's website is very misleading. The website has lovely photos of clean, spacious rooms with mini refrigerators, lovely views of the Amasra Bay, air conditioning, and a large pool with a pool bar. We were so excited to spend our weekend here.

The only thing that is realistically conveyed in the ads is the view. The hotel is dirty, the staff is extremely unhelpful, the pool was so dirty it had cigarette butts in it, there is no air conditioning, and alas, there were no mini fridges in the rooms. Over the phone we agreed the room would cost 100 YTL per night, but when we checked out, they tried to charge us 200 YTL per night. This was the worst hotel we've stayed in Turkey, and found the staff to be unfriendly, unhelpful, and crooked. Please beware of this hotel's misleading website. Because the hotel was so awful, we left Amasra one day early and enjoyed Safronbolu instead! more
