We arrived late on a Saturday night and was greeted by reception staff. The lady was very friendly and assisted all questions that we had. We had free parking on site as we hired a vehicle from the airport. We did not know about the £200 deposit to be paid on arrival, however this was refunded when we left. We were allocated our apartment which was a view over looking the rock of Gibraltar. The room had everything we needed, however this was a little outdated and could do with a paint. Beds were comfortable and had a great nights sleep with air con in the room The pool was very large and clean, only thing they could do with more sun beds around the pool, however there was plenty of seating by the bar area. There is entertainment every evening apart from a Tuesday, the entertainers were were friendly especially Sergio who was assisting us when the entertainment was starting (star of the shows). A lot of entertainment throughout the days for the children and entertainment in the evenings for adults. The pool bar was a little expensive for certain alcoholic drinks, but the drinks are all branded alcohol and tasted amazing Overall a very positive holiday and will definitely return

Dear Nathan, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at Pierre & Vacances Terrazas Costa del Sol. We are delighted to hear that our friendly reception staff made you feel welcome upon your late arrival and that you enjoyed the convenience of free parking on site. It's great to know that you found the apartment comfortable and appreciated the air conditioning for a good night's sleep. We acknowledge your feedback regarding the need for a fresh coat of paint in the apartment and the limited number of sunbeds around the pool. We continuously strive to improve our facilities and will take your comments into consideration. We're glad that you found the pool area clean and enjoyed the entertainment provided by our dedicated team, especially Sergio. It's also nice to hear that you appreciated the branded alcoholic drinks at the pool bar. Thank you once again for your kind words, and we are thrilled to know that you had a very positive holiday and are considering a return visit. We hope we may have the pleasure of welcoming you back soon. Kind regards, E.Ecija, General Manager

I gave 4 stars based on the bargain price I paid for our break (£2000 for 2 weeks self catering for 5 people including flights). If I had paid more I would have had higher expectations and would have probably given 3 stars I was worried prior to our visit by previous reviews citing rude staff, poorly maintained buildings, etc etc. I would like to reassure other families like ours (who just want a safe comfy base to stay whilst exploring the local area) that we found the resort absolutely fine for this purpose and we had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. In my opinion many of the negative English reviews/and moaning guests were unjustified and from English families who didn't research the resort first. If you hire a car as we did the resort makes an affordable base in a good location to explore up and down the coast at a very reasonable cost. If you do not have a car, it's in a fairly quiet location with very limited options to eat and explore within walking distance so probably not the spot for you. Our experience of the resort overall was good. Staff in reception were helpful and polite and spoke good English. Particularly Roberto and Maria who were very friendly and helpful. We did not eat on resort so cannot comment on restaurant staff. The pools were nice, there were not enough sunbeds but this did not affect us as we only go to the pool to swim after a day out, not to sit around all day. The main pool had a lovely view of the sea and gibraltar. Views at sunset were spectacular. The buildings and grounds were obviously beautiful at one point. They are still fine for the price we paid, but getting the fountains and water features back up and running would improve the look of the resort considerably. However this is reflected in the low prices charged. Our apartment was a 2 bedroom one looking out over the entertainment plaza and the sea. We enjoyed the views from the balcony at breakfast and in the evenings. The apartment was spacious with two bedrooms and two bathrooms which suited us as a large family with older children. There was no lift in our apartment block which was fine for us with older children, it may have been trickier for those with small children. The aircon in the apartment was excellent. We did not go down to the entertainment but enjoyed several of the shows and quizzes from our balcony. Contrary to other English reviewers, we felt the entertainment team worked hard to make the entertainment accessible to the wide variety of nationalities staying in the resort. Paying for the safety deposit box was an annoying extra expense. I was already aware of the £200 room deposit so expected this. Paying for parking is also pricy, we parked in the road outside for free and would recommend doing so unless you have mobility issues. Our only real complaint about the resort is the cleaning crew. You are meant to have cleaners in every 5 days. On our 5th day someone had obviously been into our apartment as the curtains had been opened (we always leave them shut to keep it cool). However they had not done anything in the room - no cleaning and not changed towels/bedding /bins (my son's beds were still unmade like the messy teenagers left them!) We initially assumed the cleaner must have been disturbed and would return the next day. They didn't that day or for 9 days into our holiday. We now believe they deliberately visited our room on the 5th day with no intention of cleaning so that the key card would show that they had been in as per the cleaning schedule. No cleaners came for 9 days. Our sheets were dirty and I had to wash our towels myself at my own cost in the launderette every other day. We had had to make several visits to reception for toilet rolls (as there were only 2 in the apartment) . Eventually we had to complain to reception on day 9 as our sheets desperately needed changing. The cleaners did then visit on the 10th day due to us complaining to reception but did absolute bare minimum, changing the bedding and towels but leaving bins full, with no attempt to clean the bathrooms or sweep the floors, didn't even top up the toilet rolls or shower gel. They didn't even remake my daughters sofa bed just dumped spare sheets on the coffee table. It is the first time we have ever not left a tip for the cleaners, they were absolutely rubbish and clearly trying to decide management about which rooms they were cleaning by visiting rooms without doing anything to them. Overall we enjoyed our holiday. We always consider our hotel as just a base and spend little time actually onsite. We enjoyed the pool and views when we were there. We would probably visit again if a similar bargain deal came up.

We booked this hotel via On the beach, our deal included flights from our local airport to Malaga and transfers from the airport to the hotel. We were allocated room 5004, the reception staff were friendly and explained the resort to us. Finding the room was difficult though, but eventually we found the entrance in to the block. The room, or rather apartment was very spacious, and was generally quite clean. However, we noticed there were a lot of cobwebs in the corners of every room and a thick layer of dust on the lampshades. The room didn't feel dirty but it could had been cleaner. We stayed half board; the breakfast was the same each morning but plenty of food available. The evening meals changed every evening slightly, we thought the food was generally good - the buffet area is small but there is enough food for everyone including a children's area. During breakfast juice/hot drinks are available included, in the evening only water is included. The staff in the restaurant were friendly, however the restaurant could had been a bit cleaner as well; we noticed food debris remained on the floor for a few days. Our children loved the kids club and nightly entertainment - the entertainment team were brilliant, especially Julia who we were sad to see go towards the end of August. The views from the hotel were incredible, absolutely stunning. We only used the larger pool area, we thought the small pool area was a bit too deep for our children; but the large pool was clean and a good temperature. However, my big gripe with the hotel was that there was not enough sun beds or parasols available - every morning at 9.30am a large queue would form waiting for the gate to the pool to open at 10am in order to grab sunbeds - it was so bad that one morning we witnessed an argument between guests. Even the staff admitted there was not enough sunbeds, for the space available around both pools there really is no excuse from the hotel. Some guests were complaining to the lifeguard, it really was a major disappointment with the hotel. By 10.05am every morning all the sunbeds had been taken. It was a disgrace that guests had to lie their towels on the mud/grass by the pool. To the hotel manager - get more sunbeds, no excuses. The hotel is huge and some parts of it does need repairs, for example some of the walls have large cracks on walls and in a few areas there are loose and dangerous paving slabs. It must had looked great when it was built, but now the fountain areas around some of the accommodation blocks look run down and are unused. The hotel has large areas that are unused, for instance the area around the Circus/entertainment area and the large paving area above the kids club - an idea could be to add sunbeds to these and make them an adults only area for example, take the pressure of the sunbeds at the pool. We did not have a car and was reliant on taxis to get around the area - for most days we were happy to lounge around the pool and sunbathe, but on two days the hotel reception arranged for a taxi to take us to Gibraltar. One taxi journey from the hotel to Gibraltar purposely went on a longer route to increase the fare though, so do watch out for that. It was around 40 euros from hotel to Gibraltar and about 50 euros back from the large taxi rank at the Spanish/Gibraltar border. We loved Gibraltar - highly recommend it, we went out on a boat ride and saw several wild dolphins, we went to a stunning beach and then got a cable car to the top of the rock for incredible views and to see the monkeys. We rated the hotel 4 stars because of the fantastic price we paid to stay there - it was cheaper to go there with flights and transfers then it was to stay in a self catering static caravan in North Devon for a week!!

Hotel had great views over to Sotogrande, Gibraltar and even Africa on clear days. Apartments were fine, clean with good air con, but no oven! Had food first night as got there late, an overpriced buffet (23€ per adult) that didn’t include drinks with not a great choice, so ate out or cooked rest of the week. Drinks also fairly expensive compared to local bars and restaurants. Pool area was good, but the lack of sunbeds with only approx 80 available for a capacity of 200 people, meant most days were lying on our towels on the grass uncomfortably. Location is on a hill away from shops so a car is needed. There was a restaurant at the bottom of the hill by the beach but we ventured a bit further to the local marinas 10 minutes away which had a good choice of bars/ restaurants. Felt the parking charge to park by your room was excessive. A little gripe, I mislaid my iwatch on our last day by the pool. When I asked at reception, I was informed nothing had been handed in and that I should ask lifeguard next day (which I couldn’t as we were leaving early next morning). I tracked my watch, showed reception and it was located a few miles down the road in the same area that the lifeguard lived (informed by reception!) I got reception to phone the lifeguard who said he had it and ‘forgot’ to hand it to their lost property!! Hmmm. As I was leaving next morning, I had to drive that night to collect it from him, even though it was his fault he allegedly forgot to hand it in. There was no offer of bringing it back to the hotel, and not much of an apology when I collected it from him. The hassle of this and the 50 minute round trip to collect it severely lowered my experience of this hotel. Overall, for what we paid it was ok. Would I go back? Probably not.

Came for 10 nights with my family, apartments are not to bad clean and big! Self-catering be aware no oven! Just hob and microwave. Location is in the middle of no where on the top of a very tall mountain. 100% need to hire a car! Taxis are expensive and we're few and long waits at times! Supermarkets are around 13 euros there and 13 back! Hotels mini Market has hardly anything so Supermarkets are a must! You can buy breakfast and evening meals 14 euros per adult 11 per child (6 of us) was pretty expensive. The pool.... really nice pool but fighting for beds every day have to que at least half hour before it opens to get a bed and people literally push you out the way and sprint to beds! There's only one bin for the whole pool it was overflowing by midday. Life guard is there but has his head in his phone all day! No floats aloud in the pool only small rings and arm bands. Some staff are bending over backwards for you others are just rude! Overall not bad for the price but defo wouldn't stay here again :)

Family of 4 including 2 teenagers. Clean, comfortable apartment with good air con! Wonderful views and good food. I particularly liked the kitchen cleaning kit so you didn't have to get stuff just to wash up the few items we used. Some entertainment in the evenings and in the mornings. The staff were excellent! They were helpful and friendly and got to know the guests quickly. Yes, you definitely need a car to get around to visit some of the stunning beaches in the area and avoid taxis which can add up. The pools were busy and as we went in to full school holiday mode it was more difficult to get sun beds but that is the same at any holiday hotel. Paid the deposit at check in and it was returned with a couple of days of getting home. Overall, thought the hotel was lovely and would recommend in the future. Had a wonderful time!

not enough sunbeds or parasols around the pool and people still reserving sunbeds with towels and not using them for hours, you will need a taxi to get anywhere as it is remote, walking to the beech is a 20 minute mission we only did once, rooms ok but need decorating, pools are good.

Stayed here for 4 nights 30th may to 3rd June, we left the apartment I’d say cleaner than it was upon arrival. We removed all our rubbish, washed everything up and put everything away, I stripped all the beds and left the linen and towels in one pile in the bathroom. I wiped all surfaces in the main room and the outdoor balcony. I paid the €200 deposit upon arrival and was told upon check out that the apartment would be checked and a refund would be made in 12-24 hours. 16 days later, and 2 ignored emails to the company directly, I am still awaiting my refund. I shall be contacting my holiday agent tomorrow to see if they can chase this for me but I shouldn’t have to waste my time doing this when I’d left the apartment in such a lovely clean manner. Very disappointing behaviour from the hotel.

We have just come back from a week in Spain whereby we were supposed to be staying at this hotel. We finally found the place half way up an incredibly steep mountain side, ( so if you have mobility problems then you’ve got no chance) Our first impression of the hotel was not good, tbh we were truly mortified, it looks nothing like the pictures which are advertised on “On the beach’s” website, I don’t think that the place has been painted or maintained in the slightest for at least the last 20 + years, the rendering had blown and fallen off on a lot of the apartment buildings, and floor tiles cracked and broken. When we checked in the guy on reception was helpful and explained to us where the nearest bars and restaurants were ( BEWARE THESE ARE A 15 MINUTE DRIVE AWAY) so if you don’t have a vehicle then god help you as you’ll be totally isolated and stuck in a run down shack. We found our rooms downstairs on a dimly lit corridor, the rooms are extremely basic, with no hairdryer or ironing facilities, ( our fridge didn’t work either as it didn’t close at all, the patio area was very dirty with cigarette butts in the grass surrounding it. We decided after 5 minutes in the room that we would not be staying and set about seeking alternative accommodation, we were not able to move here until the following day so we had no choice but to stay here for the night, The bed was so hard it was like sleeping on a concrete floor. We checked out the following morning ( so 1 out of 7 nights we stayed) and we were not asked once by 2 different staff members the reason why we were doing so!!! I SERIOUSLY CANNOT EXPLAIN HOW AWFUL THIS PLACE IS AND HOW EXTREMELY ISOLATED YOU ARE. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND SANITY AND BOOK ELSEWHERE

We are situated on a hillside, which allows for stunning views of the surrounding area, including the rock of Gibraltar, but we understand that this may not be suitable for everyone, especially those with mobility issues. For guests without a vehicle, we do offer a free shuttle bus service to the nearby Punta de Chullera public beach, which is just 5 minutes away. Additionally, our village has several on-site restaurants and a mini-market for the convenience of our guests. We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced in your apartment and will address the issues you mentioned with our housekeeping and maintenance teams. We regret that you did not have the opportunity to enjoy our wide range of amenities, such as our water park, children's clubs, and various excursions available in the local area. We strive to provide a memorable experience for all our guests, and we are continuously working to improve our facilities and services. We appreciate your kind words about our helpful reception team who are always ready to assist our guests and provide them with the necessary information to make their stay as enjoyable as possible. We hope you will give us another chance to provide you with a better experience in the future. Kind regards, E.Ecija, General Manager

I have one word. Ants. My partner and I arrived at the resort late a night just to be welcomed by a nest of red ants in our "clean" bed. My parter has very sensitive skin meaning this atrocity caused him to itch the whole night and have a rash in the morning. DO NOT GO HERE. This place was absolutely terrible. We were also told just as we went to reception that we had to pay a €200 deposit which came as a shock as was not specified at all to us. It's also in the middle of nowhere and taxis are very expensive all around the area, as you walk down to the end of the resort, you're met by a big motorway so it's not even like you can walk to anywhere that's not miles away. The staff was so rude and offered barely any help when we rang up about the ants and gave no help with directions to our room just expected us to know where to go, (bearing in mind the place is massive) it was a whole 15 min walk to our room from the reception which is ridiculous. We also spoke to another couple who was had been staying at the resort for just over a week and still hadn't had their room cleaned, they told us they had complained to reception 6 times already but nothing had been done. The food was overly expensive for no reason, they had a buffet that had the most simplest of dishes which resulted in us paying €25 per person on a plate of dry fries and unsealed trout. The "adult" pool was filled with kids the whole time and the family friendly pool was always packed so no winning there. The Wi-Fi never worked which meant we had to use our phone data the whole trip! The "mini market" was ridiculously trash, barely a bottle of sun cream in there. Over all, will never be returning to this terrible resort. Save your money. DO NOT BOOK.

Dear Elena, Thank you for taking the time to share your review with us. We regret to hear that your stay at our holiday village did not meet your expectations. We are sorry that our location and the laid-back lifestyle of Andalusia, with Punta de Chullera public beach, just 5 minutes away by our free shuttle bus, did not meet your needs. Furthermore, we are truly sorry to hear about the issues you encountered during your stay. We understand how frustrating it must have been to find ants in your room, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Our housekeeping team is usually very diligent in maintaining the cleanliness of our apartments, and we will address this issue with them. Regarding the deposit, this is mentioned in our information sheet provided during the booking process and on all booking websites. We also apologize if you felt our high standards of service were not upheld on this occasion, our aim is to always provide excellent customer service and we are sorry if you felt this wasn't the case. Concerning the Wi-Fi, we offer free high-speed WiFi throughout the village, and we will investigate any connectivity issues to improve the service for our guests. We understand that the mini-market may not have met your expectations, but we do have a supermarket nearby that offers a wider range of products for our guests' convenience. Moreover, we are surprised to hear of the concern about children being in the adult pool as this is not something that generally happens and we will be discussing this with our lifeguards; thank you for bringing this to our attention. Lastly, we apologize if the wide range of dishes available at our Don Cabanne restaurant also did not meet your expectations and we have noted your comment. We hope that you will give us another opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future. Kind regards, E.Ecija
