Stayed 3 nights (third night free) B&B. Very friendly staff. Large comfortable room, slightly old fashioned wallpaper but it is a victorian building. Twin beds, very comfortable with super white sheets and duvets. Ensuite bathroom, only problem shower head from taps and no curtain. Great views of the hills from the room (8). Could do with tissues and waste bin in the bathroom. A shelf on which to put wash bags etc would also be appreciated. An excellent place to stay if visiting Cragside. Generally a pleasing experience. more

An ideal base from which to get out and about across Northumberland. An excellent restaurant meant that the hotel was very busy most evenings with non-residential diners. Thr room was satisfactory for our needs more

The entrance and reception were poor and if we had not booked we could have been put off staying. No one was at reception and despite following the instructions on the reception desk we still had to wait at least 5 minutes before anyone came.
