We stayed here as part of a cycling trip, and were very pleased that we did. The hotel was excellent -- the rooms were well decorated, clean and well maintained, with all the amenities. The pool was nice and the location very good (although as the town is tiny any place would be good). The hosts were wonderful -- extremely... more

We booked this on the basis of good reviews on Tripadviser and were not disappointed. It is a very special small hotel where you will be made to feel very welcome. We stayed in the Monpazier Suite which was just lovely and had the bonus of staying four nights for the price of three. We ate in the hotel on... more

Stayed here as part of a tour of France and Spain last year. Very nice place and easy to find. Staff were really friendly. First night we arrived restaurant was not open so they directed us to a lovely Bistro at the other end of Monpazier. My only complaint was that I thought it was a little bit pricey in... more

This is a wonderful hotel at which four of us stayed for one night as part of an extended cycling tour. For the wife and me, this was our second bicycle tour of le Perigord. As you can see the building itself is quite fancy, especially for those of us used to more common budget hotels. On the outside, there's... more

Finding somewhere to stay in the Dordogne that ticks a good number of boxes, while being reasonable in cost, is a difficult task. The Edward 1ER and Arjan and Marije's hospitality however have made this easy for me from now on. The hotel is a beautiful building right on the doorstep of Monpazier, or rather 100m from the central square... more

Monpazier is a lovely little town and this is the perfect place to stay! The house is beautiful - like a mini chateau - the rooms are very nice, lovely swimming pool. Didn't sample the food as the restaurant was closed for the evening but the very friendly owners recommended a good restaurant in town. more

Booked a 3 night break for my husband as a 50th birthday surprise. He was delighted! It included a day out in a restored Citroen 2cv with a very luxurious picnic included. We felt like film stars driving through the beautiful Dordogne countryside being waved at by passers-by. The hotel itself was worthy of a film set and we felt... more
