We stayed for three nights in room 55, which is the smallest hotel room I have ever been in. Described as a double, it was just over 9ft by 12ft, only just big enough for a single really, with a bathroom of similar proportions Given how expensive it was, I had expected much more. On the first night, I went... more

Stayed here for 2 nights. First night was great but went downhill from there. Breakfast, poor. Dinner in the "Bistro" below average. The waiting staff were ok but as for the owner. She did not crack one smile. Over priced. Never ever will go back more

The hotel is full of Victorian charm, and is warm and inviting in the reception, residents lounge and bar area. The bistro restaurant is also very nice and the food (although unimaginative) is not expensive and there is a satisfactory range on the menu. The gigantic blackboard with the specials is a hazard for both staff and guests and could... more

My wife and I recently held our wedding reception at the Falls of Lora. We travel to the area regularly and adore the scenery both there and en route. We had eaten in the excellent bistro restaraunt there numerous times before and thought it worthy of our reception. It is a very Victorian hotel, with old world charm, excellent food... more

My boyfriend and I visited this hotel for a couple of nights. We really enjoyed it. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. The wine is nice and cheap and the service was really good throughout our stay. We stayed in the room with the round bed and jacuzzi and it was definately relaxing. I would definately... more

Further to some of the comments about reception staff at the hotel. I had to cancel my stay at the hotel at 48 hours notice, due to a family medical emergency. I was dealt with by different members of staff on two occasions and was met with complete courtesy on each occasion. more

We booked into The Falls of Lora Hotel for one night - we were attending a wedding during the day. The hotel is very dated, some rooms almost back in fashion, some just plain cringe worthy (round bed covered with black fur fabric and bowling green bright coloured carpet)!! We stayed in the old part so I think our room... more

Having stayed at this B&B (which raffle did they win their "stars") for a family wedding I really have to set the book straight on this antiquated, over-priced outrage to scottish tourism. Paying £120 per night (yes american friends, nearly $250) for a speciality room - the Blue Room, I would have expected the basics to be right. Clearly a... more

What a fantastic weekend, all the staff were so welcoming. We stayed in room 43 with a lovely 4 poster overlooking the loch! One night we had a bar meal which was absolutely delicious - look out for the specials board. The highlight of the stay was when we missed the bus to Oban and a member of staff (Jenny)... more

We have stayed at the Falls of Lora 3 times in the last 3 years so I'd like to share my experiences. We always stay in the "Blue room" which has romantic connotations for us. It's really beautiful but it ain't cheap. The hotel is typically "scottish"- understaffed, a bit chilly and grossly overpriced. But as Scottish hotels go, It's... more
