Visited on a wee break between Xmas and New Year and stayed for one night, booked through late rooms for £50 bed and breakfast. The rooms are well decorated but tiny, and also a small double bed. There is a nice shower room but when I went for a shower after breakfast there was no hot water left :( On... more

I did not stay in the hotel, but after the way the manager treat me after cancelling my room, I will never go there in the future. Although I cancelled the room a clear eleven days in advance I was still billed. And basically after avoiding speaking to me several times, the manager most discourteously informed that I had not... more

I checked in on a monday night for a business trip . Reception staff very pleasant and room was very comfortable and clean. The restaurant however does let the hotel down. I had tasteless langoustines for a starter and venison for main courese which was cooked "to death".It was very dry and slightly tough, the vegetables and potatoes were however... more

We are just back from our second stay at the Oyster Inn, and once again it lived up to its reputation. It is a cosy, friendly Inn with fabulous views. The food was excellent, as I fancied sea food the chief produced the most amazing scallops for starter just how I like them, and the fillet steak was possibly one... more

Recently toured round Scotland with friends, different hotel every night. The Oyster really stood out as the best! Fantastic views, wonderful friendly staff, and terrific food! The rooms were bright, modern, great to relax in after a long drive. All 8 of us on the trip felt it was the best we've stayed in. Will definately be back! more

Back to the Oyster Inn once again.... We love this place - lovely folk, wonderful location for experiencing the West Coast, great food, nice rooms, wonderful view. Only disappointment was that the langustine were finished by the time we ordered dinner.... so we had to order them the next night and were not disappointed! We'll be back again. more

Well in short dont. I booked the room as our final night of two week holiday in Scotland, this was going to be our treat as we had camped and stayed with family for the other 13 nights. My wife and I eat out regularly and we cook and entertain frequently, my wife works in hospitatlity and I spend my... more

We enjoyed a wondeful meal, excellent service and fantastic views, and all for pennies. Our haggis tricolour starters was delightful. We separated with the main, Pauline enjoyed the rib-eye while I went for the catch of the day in a sauce that contained butter, lemon and lime. It was wonderful how they sat us side by side so that we... more

We arrived at the Oyster Inn late afternoon on one of these rare dry days, after having been shown to our room we decided a long cool drink on the front deck was in order, the views of the Loch are spectacular, we had to drag ourselves away to get ready for dinner. Our bedroom was a good size with... more

We booked this hotel at short notice but were led to believe it was one of the better options in the local area. We had wanted a double but everything was full so the last option was a bunk room of 2 x 2 bunks. The beds were actually comfortable. There were some obvious issues with the room that wouldn't... more

Management response from
albannach, Manager

As you can appreciate the hotel is extremely popular with tourists and local diners alike and with only having 11 4 star bedrooms they do fill up very quickly. On account of the hotel being fully booked on the day of the guests arrival we quite rightly offered our bunk rooms as an alternative. These rooms are indeed of a...
