This is a great place to use as a base - the town isn't the greatest for facilites but is well connected by bus and train (including historical routes) - we had a car and on our day off travelled to see waterfalls, castles and beaches. Dolawel is warm and friendly place to stay while in Blaenau Ffestiong; Pat and Alister Harvron run the guest house and make you feel quite at home and spoil you with their hearty breakfast. Great and very friendly atmosphere in this family run B&B. Comfortable quiet and clean rooms with big beds and soft matress. I travelled to Snowdonia to climb Mt Snowdon, and experience the stunning scenery. Dolawel Guest House is superbly situated in a wonderful location, which provides excellent flexibility for both mountaineers and casual walkers.
