We arrived in town and there the motel is on your left. Booking in the lady on reception was very welcoming and explained the local geography of Takaka and the places to eat and the things to see, and provided us with a map. A good start. We had a fantastic stay at Mohua the staff were vey friendly, the rooms were the best we've used in New Zealand. The rooms were always immaculately cleaned and had everything you could possibly need, central to both supermarket and town.. We would highly recommend this motel to anyone travelling in to the Golden Bay area, and wish the owners... more
I agree with the previous reviewer. A new and well equipped motel in a convenient location. A short walk to the delightful Takaka town center plus an excellent supermarket almost opposite. And the info office next door if you want to check to weather or book a trip. And it's within easy reach of all the glories of Golden Bay.... more
Mohua Motel was a surprise gem in Golden Bay. We were expecting the usual motel accommodation but instead found our family unit (Room 4) was stylish and sophisticated.
