We stayed at Heathbank for two nights in May 2013. (It should have been 3 nights but ferry technical problems resulted in us running 28 hours late ! The hotel took all this in its stride) The hotel has obviously had a lot of upgrade / refurbishment work done on it in recent times yo good effect. Our bedroom (No... More

This was an excellent place to stay and such a surprise as it was our first night in the Outer Hebrides. Our room was perfect, the breakfast top class, and we enjoyed having dinner there as well. Lovely hosts and staff. Highly recommend! Fascinating location as well.

This is a simple 3 star hotel. The rooms are spotless and the food good. The Dining Room is somewhat austere but the bar area, where most of the evening meals are served, is much better. All the staff and owner are very helpful and jolly. You will have a great stay here. It would not take much (say the... More

We booked this in North bay for 2 nights as the bigger hotels were full. But so glad we did . It was a small 5 roomed hotel but great meals and a bar overlooking the bay. It was the cleanest I have stayed in and the hosts and staff very helpful with beautiful breakfasts with full Scottish or fish... More

Heathbank was our first stop on a tour of the Western Isles. Having arrived late off the ferry from Oban, this was perfect as it had it's own bar. Room was lovely and staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fresh and with Stornoway black pudding, just lovely!

The hotel is well located for the port with a friendly, welcoming host. Our bedroom was small but clean and comfortable. There were good choices for breakfast and it was all well cooked. Good pub food in the evening. Wherever you stay, Barra is easy to explore and is a beautiful island.

Enjoyed 2 nights wilst staying on Barra. Convenient for the ferry and airport. The hosts were friendly, the rooms clean and light and airy. There was good food which was pub-type. It would have been nice to have a more comfortable lounge/bar for relaxing after the meal but as this is Barra I guess people generally didn't stay more than... More

We stayed at Heathbank for 5 nights in early April 2013. We had a really lovely stay there and would recommend it to others. The room was spotless and had everything we needed. The food was lovely, both the breakfasts and evening meals. We loved the local smoked salmon, the scallops were the biggest we have ever had and the... More

Had a fantastic time about 2 years ago staying here with my son. This time I was on a cycle touring holiday and just popped in for dinner. Food was excellent and I would highly recommend it to others.

Recently popped into this hotel for a bite to eat. Arrived about 5pm and were advised dinner service wouldn't start for another hour or so. Once we returned just after 6pm we were greated by 2 nice waitresses who were very helpful and pleasant. our drink orders were taken & delivered very quick.the menu had a great selection and even...
