Great place to stay with sweeping views of the area, fantastic food to challange any London restaurant, must be the best 3 star hotel in France. Can't recommend it hightly enough ! Best to pay the little extra and have a room with a view of the valley and village.

thank you very much for your comment .our chef is always very attentive to the comment on its cooking. There is only one room who has no view on the valley or the village. By hoping to welcome you next time in a room with view Very cordially More

While driving from the Gorges du Verdon down to Nice in Provence, we unexpectedly came upon the Chateau Trigance. Perched high atop a hill overlooking a village, the sight was quite magical and lured us up and into the chateau for a night. The medieval fortress was built by monks in the 10th century but over the centuries was renovated... More

We stayed here for one night after covering the Gorges du Verdon, an incredible gorge. To sight the castle on the top of the hill, sleep in a medieval room, all decoration are wonderful. Unlike staying in a hotel in the city, there was not much to do, just wait for dinner. Internet only in the hall near the reception.... More

This hotel is an old castle, sitting on top of a hill overlooking the village of Trigance. It advertises "medieval ambiance" and this is indeed true. Heavy stone walls, medieval or medieval-like furnishings, etc. The views from the patio over the countryside are beautiful, and this would be expected for a fortress designed to protect the town below. However, our... More

I wanted to give the kids (10 and 8) a treat on their last night in France on this trip - so I looked for a fairytale castle to stay in where we had a shortish drive to Nice-Cote d'Azur Airport the next day. I found the Chateau de Trigance on the net and made a booking (I later needed... More

Stayed here for one night in September. The rooms are very cool with a medieval theme. Nice but not extraordinary luxorious. The best thing is the view from the terrace, it's nothing short of amazing! The same can be said of the restaurant. Very pleasant dining atmosphere and one of, if not the best meal I had in France! Highly... More

A wonderful setting for a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The castle has been imaginatively converted into a comfortable small hotel with good seating area both indoors and outside on the large terrace. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the restaurant service was excellent. We went for the lowest priced table d'hote menu and were not disappointed: beatifully presented and... More

Very worth the climb. Outstanding meal. From the little pot of soup to the fantstic chef created salads (we ordered off the menu and they were happy to oblige) to the scrumptious cheeses afterwards. First class service in a gorgeous 10th century chateau. This is a must if you are in the area.

. The "castle" has been very thoughtfully restored and is an interesting place with superb views overlooking the mellow orange roofs of the medieval village of Trigance and the surrounding countryside. Breakfast in the sunshine outside on the battlements is a delightful experience. Not too happy with the evening dinners but this may be more of a personal dislike than... More

Great drive from north of Castellane up over Gorge (D4085), narrow roads, drop off's, river and over hangs on road. Castle/Chateau on top of hill with great views and very unique location. Food was great and service the same. Considering the remote location I wouldn't have expected The Waterside type service but the effort made by the staff was excellent.... More
