A lovely grown-up hotel with no pretensions to being a boutique hotel. We used this as a walking base in the region and it was perfect as a place to come back to. The village is a typical whitwashed andalucian village that is large enough to wander and have some interesting look around, a few bars and restaurants and some interesting shops. Far from the chaos of the coast, but near enough for day trips to Nerja, Torre Del Mar and other pretty villages. The hotel is independent, friendly and does its job... more

A delightful hotel in a picturesque mountain village. The staff could not have been more helpful and the room was good sized, nicely appointed and had a balcony overlooking the superb outdoor pool. Stayed for 5 nights B&B - much too long. Rooms were clean and staff were friendly. Very limited choice for continental breakfast only, they don't seem to cater for people staying more than a couple of nights. This is the 5th time I've stayed at the Balcon. The staff is WONDERFUL! Anything you need, they will steer you in the right direction. You'll see some of the employees as you happen around the village and they are just as glad to see you as when you're in the hotel. Very enjoyable 2 night stay. Traditional type of Spanish hotel. Friendly helpful staff - sorted a minor problem with the heating quickly. Staff speak English but were happy to listen to my attempts at Spanish. Didn't use the pool as it was Nov but it looked lovely. Would certainly stay again. more

From Jose, the hard-working hotel manager, right through to the reception, restaurant and house-keeping staff, we were always met with smiling, friendly, helpful faces.And they were natural smiles - not the result of any corporate mandate!
