Everything about this visit was astonishing really - getting there an adventure in itself, meeting Paolo as our guide dropped as off with our luggage, and then the amazement at the ingenuity and imagination to turn this extraordinary 12th century property into a B&B. We could only laugh and enjoy. Not suitable for the infirm or unfit, but for everyone... More

“Different in a good way”

I'm so glad we stayed with Paolo and his family. I'm also glad we decided to stay in Apricale, it made a lovely change of pace and scenery from the rest of our holiday through France and Italy. The narrow, winding, cobbled lanes of the old village combined with the views from the towering village centre made a nice difference... More

Thanks to Paolo and Barabara for a lovely long weekend in Liguria. The house is amazing. It is a cross between staying in a castle and a grotto! The house is laid out over six or seven levels (lo ho domenticato!) Our room had the shower carved out of the walls! The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable.... More
