This is a fairly uniform Parador up to normal standards. Parking is good, about 100 yards from hotel and reasonably secure. Reception good. Bar OK but smoking area. The hotel was very nice. The coimmon areas of this hotel are gorgeous. The rooms are also nice, but not as stunning as the common areas. There were FANTASTIC restaurants with only local Spanish cuisine in the area, and we used a guide book for suggestions of local wines not to be missed. The Parador was a great place to stay, right next to the cathedral. We walked around the city streets, they were quiet with a couple nice shops. The Parador was beautiful in the lobby and comfortable rooms. Breakfast was expensive but convinient for us. more

My wife and I stayed here one night on our visit to La Rioja. We came here directly from the airport in Madrid, so when we got in, it was pretty late and we were all tired out.
