Wasn't sure to begin with. It seemed a bit remote and no one was there and "Lurch" at reception was a bit off. But once you settled in and acclimatized, it grew on you. Spent a week relaxing at this great little hotel. Fantastic location and very isolated so be prepared. We did not intend to eat in the hotel every night but ended up nearly doing so due to the isolation and the good food. The hotel was set in delightful countryside overlooking a lake. The rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean. The food was good and the wine very reasonably priced. The G&Ts before dinner each evening were excellent!! more

A lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. The food was lovely and the setting is perfect to relax. We went with two friends and we can't wait to return next year. Perfect for relaxing by the pool in the beautiful Sardinian countryside and not too far to the sea. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel. more

We stayed at the Valkarana from 15th - 22nd August and had a wonderful time, falling in love with Sardinia! We knew exactly what we were letting ourselves in for, with its remoteness, as we had done our homework. Get what you pay for: good location, quiet, clean, reliable service by nice people. Food is good, local cooking. Rooms are nice, big and clean. View is great though not seaside. Breakfast on the porch is a must - the view!!! Pool is clean, spacious, and cold in the morning but much warmer at night. Park everywhere as in Italy.... more
