We stayed here for 4 nights as part of a tour of Tuscany, and it was without doubt one of the loveliest places we've ever found. Nestled in the quiet hills of central Tuscany in an idyllic and quiet location, the surroundings are beautiful, the staff are friendly and helpful and the buildings and rooms are traditional and charming. The... more

We returned to Borgo Pretale after 9 years with our two young daughters. While a bit tricky to find, it is well worth it to stay in a place so secluded and tranquil. The hotel remains a lovely, romantic setting, spread out over a large wooded area. Our spacious suite was ideal to accommodate the needs of our 6 and... more

We have been to Borgo Pretale already twice and we enjoy our stay every time. We stayed there this year for a week. We made our daily schedule of "Breakfast - Tennis - Swimming - nap - Sight seeing - dinner". We usually ate dinner out at sight seeing places where we happened to be and came back to the... more

I last came here ten years ago with my family, and it had been a firm favourite with us. I returned for our honeymoon, and was not disappointed. The place has so much charm, beautiful views and wonderful, accomodating staff. Great rural part of Tuscany too - away from the hustle and bustle, but not too far from it! The... more

I stayed a couple of nights in Borgo Pretale, a nice place in the middle of nothing near Siena, surrounded by Tuscany hills and with a wonderful view. It's a small ancient village with a small tower as hall and other houses as rooms. These rooms are very basic, some of them with a little kitchen and a living room.... more

We stayed in a suite with a balcony overlooking the surrounding Tuscan countryside. Facilities in the suite (which comprised a large living area, bedroom, bathroom and small kitchen area) were good. Breakfast was perfectly acceptable and dinner in the restaurant was excellent and well worth the price. We also tried lunch at the poolside and this, too, was good and... more

We arrived and were shown our suite. It was awful - 1970s plastic wardobe, no bedside lights, awful bedspread, but the worst thing was a mobile air-conditioning unit that leaked and made a noise like an express train. I wept and was ready to leave. My husband went to reception and asked if we could see some other rooms. We... more

My self and two friends used the hotel as a base for a weeks mountain bike holiday. The other two took their own bikes but because I had to leave early, I used one of the Hotel's bikes and it was perfectly satisfactory, much better than most hotel bikes that I have come across. The location is remote and lovely.... more

My wife and I spent our pre-wedding honeymoon at the borgo with 8 other friends and relatives and it was amazing. The service was impecable!! The porters new who we were from the moment we got there and were always willing to help. The front desk was helpful with winery recommendations and directions to other cities. The views are breathtaking... more

This was a gem, relaxing, peaceful and unpretentious - we could have spent all day in the garden chairs looking out over the fields at the distant forest. The location was excellent - close to Sienna so that we spent a day there, another day getting lost in southern Tuscany and a third day driving the wine country and visiting... more
