Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Two nice rooms with large terrasses. Restaurant of good quality. Very kind and dedicated personnel Due to Covid crisis, I would not recommend taking breakfast at the hotel (expensive and worthless). Feeling in safe environment (Covid safety rules strictly applied)

Dear guest, Thank you for your kind comment! We are very happy to hear of your feedback and that you had a nice stay with us. We are taking into consideration your comments on the breakfast part that we are indeed trying to improve with the season as it is a new process forced by the covid. Looking forward to welcoming you again. Kind Regards Marie

Rarely that I find a place so bad. Let me make a list... ...the service is lousy and it feels like the staff have no idea what service is ...the restaurant serves lousy food at a high price ...breakfast cost a fortune but basically all you get is a some baguette However, the cleaning staff where very nice! To sum up, avoid this hotel until they change owners, staff (except the cleaning staff), the menu and realize that you have to like your customers if you work in the service sector.

Dear Mr. Boman, Thank you for your kind review Your honesty is as high as your respect of the people and location you're visiting apparently First, you are cancelling a full week booking in the holiday period two days before arrival, our cancellation policy is to keep 30% of the stay full price... We had the kindeness to wave the fee considering you kept the other room and because we always try to please our guests. When we have the flexibility to wave the charge and then you kept complaining. You eventually decided to leave one night earlier, so we are very sorry we had to charge this one... Moreover, you litterally broke your room's toilet seat in half... who does that...? Our breakfast buffet is not only bread we have a wide range of salty and sugary french and english delicacies you don't need to lie just to be mean. Who are you to judge the people who give their best to please you and make your stay enjoyable, our people usually give back what they get from our guest and knowing your behavior with them they might not have been smilling as much as usually... sorry about that. We do like our job and our guests but you know what goes around comes around so please do not come back, we'd like to give priority to the people that are happy to be on holidays and not frustrated to be alive. Thank you Best regards All the Chalet Suisse Team

Turned up in Valberg with no reservation but the receptionist was very good with doing us a good deal on the room. Room was a double bed with another single on a mezzanine floor both vey comfortable. Fantastic view down the valley and very quite as the hotel is in the pedestrian area. Bikes were aloud to be parked outside in full view of the reception desk.

We stopped here on an alpine cycling trip, and twin shared the rooms. The room on the first floor had its own patio with sun lounges. Downstairs is a restaurant, and a comfortable lounge and bar. Staff were helpful and accommodating, and we enjoyed our stay.

We usually stay in Nice for the week, and spend a couple of nights up in Valberg to get in a good 3 days skiing. We take the Ski Bus up to Valberg from Nice (unbelievably cheap!) which takes a few hours and gets you up there for the start of the ski day (minus ski hire etc.) My partner and I decided to stay here based on reviews here, and were not disappointed. The rooms are fairly basic, but comfy with decor in line with most mountain resort hotels. The food in the restaurant is very nice, but expensive so we don't eat there every night. The receptionist was fluent in English and French (which is very helpful, as we are fluent in Franglais) and very helpful.

We have just spent two nights at this hotel in Valberg and recommend it very highly. The location is ideal - you step outside the hotel onto the piste. Lockers are provided for all your ski gear, so you literally step off the slopes, lock up your skis and boots, retrieve your shoes etc and step into the hotel. The hotel sits on a pedestrian sqaure, but there is no problem to drive in front of the hotel, drop your luggage and then park nearby. The staff are very very friendly and helpful. We had a family room which consisted of a queen size bed and two singles with a sliding door to separate the rooms, two very nice bathrooms, and a terrace directly onto the snow. The decor in the rooms and throughout the hotel is really lovely. Their breakfast is good, dinner was so good we ate at the restaurant both nights, and made use of the après ski lounge for delicious afternoon hot chocolates! This is definitely the best hotel in Valberg - we are already planning a return trip.

This is a lovely, small hotel right in the centre of Valberg. It is close to the tourist office as well as all the shops, cafes and restaurants. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the room was small but it had a really nice terrace with a table and chairs. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was modern and clean. It also had a nice deep bath which we were grateful for after a long days walking! It is not possible to park at the hotel, but there is lots of parking close by. The breakfast was varied and plentiful. This hotel is happy to accept dogs in the rooms for a small charge (we called to check first), and in fact a few other guests had also brought their dogs.

I went skiing for the first time with my two teenage daughters in March 2011. We stayed at Le Chalet Suisse because of its perfect location beside the ski lift at Valberg. I was delighted with the welcome we received, the very helpful and friendly staff, the excellent service and food. It was a wonderful experience and I will come back again.
