The Tilapia Hotel has a beautiful location on Lake Victoria, and provides excellent spacious rooms with good air conditioning, hot water and every facility you could want, including tea-making and a mini-bar. Stayed here for two nights on business but would also suit vacation. It's in a great location being located on Lake Victoria with friendly staff, good food with a choice of restaurants, decent bar and lovely views from a room that looked over Lake Victoria. Only downside, iffy hot water supply, that aside, it was a very pleasant experience.

We stayed one night as part of a package tour so can't comment on the price. The room was functional with good shower and nice balcony with a view. The outdoor restaurant was excellent with good wine list and great view across Lake Victoria. Breakfast buffet was disappointing but pool and location more than compensated

I recently spent 2 weeks at the Tilapia. I found the staff very helpful and had no problem explaining myself in my far from perfect Swahili.
