Recently visited Dunagiri with friends and had an amazing time! Dunagiri is beautiful and peaceful, and simply one of the best places to visit in India. I thank the friendly staff and the caring and helpful host, Piyush uncle, for making my trip so wonderful.

I recently visited Dunagiri Retreat with 5 other friends and on the whole it was an amazingg trip! I think some of the most uniquely significant things about Dunagiri Retreat would include its beautiful architecture (which is so close to nature, with the use of locally available stones and wood, and it feels as if every peach tree and rose... We were looking for a quiet and peaceful place for a family holiday. Had zeroed down on a quaint little place in himachal , done our tentative booking there, and suddenly came across this website of Dunagiri. And it was as if we were destined to go there, everything started falling in place and finally on a nice day of... More

In my whole month in India, this magical retreat sanctuary was my very favorite part of the whole journey which was great to begin with. One can feel the love in every inch of the property and we were blessed with the most wonderful host Pandajit, who cooked for us the most divine cuisine, brought special tea to us first... More

If you're looking for real peace and quiet, with literally no other civilization near about, this is your spot. The resort is a small set of cottages nestled in the hills in Dunagiri, which is about two hours away from any town of note (Ranikhet). Their idea of a welcome drink is juice made from local flower pulp. Their idea... More

Ten days was too short a stay. I could have spent a month, and hope to do so another year. Where to begin describing how special Dunagiri Retreat is? I wanted silence and solitude for a spiritual retreat in the holy Himalayas. Here I found the perfect hermitage for my sadhana. Location. Architecture. Original art. These three play together exquisitely.... More

Dunagiri is an extremely green and serene place and provides excellent options for jungle walks and treks. The place also has a lot of historical and religious importance attached to it.Dunagiri Retreat with its cosy cottages and food that tastes just like home food, is the sole retreat in the area.I lived here for two days with my family and it... We have visited a good number of hill stations around the Kumaon/ Garhwal region over the last few years..... Very few places visited thus far comes close to Dunagiri Retreat, for the sense of bliss that we experienced. The place clearly looks a labour of love of Mr.Piyush. He has developed the place more as a large home than a... More

Dunagiri was the last stop of a pilgrimage, made by me and a group of friends from Australia, to a number of sites sacred to SRF/YSS devotees. I cannot thank Piyush and his wonderful crew enough for taking care of us so completely, so sweetly. Dunagiri is simply appointed. Minimalist yet very comfortable. We were two to a room in... More

Visit to Dunagiri was a much awaited holiday for my family. After a long wait for nearly four months (booked as early as August 2012), we reached the retreat on December 31st. We were a large family, by virtue of it literally owned the place. Piyush had already informed that he will not entertain any other guests during our stay.... More
