I could not quite figure out this hotel. Let me start with the face value. The hotel was located on a hillside and had several buildings. We stayed at building #8 which was a fair walk from the main building, lucky we had a driver with us. The lobby to building #8 was big enough and showing all efforts to... more

I stayed at this hotel one night, as a starting point for a weekend on Mt. Emei. I was in building 5, which seemed to be the main hotel. Check-in was quick and but no one spoke English well. It took a few attempts before I understood that they were putting a 2000 RMB deposit on my credit card, in... more

This is one of the strangest places I ever stayed in. Firstly, Mount Emei is nothing to ride home about - it's a fairly challenging walk to the "Golden Summit" and when you get there it's likely to be covered in mist. Think before making the trek from Chengdu. Anyway, to the hotel. The room was ok, albeit each time... more

I stayed at Hongzhushan during a visit to Emeishan and although it looks very nice on the outside, I found our room very musty, the beds extremely hard, and the food only so so. There aren't a lot of places to stay in Emeishan, so as hotels go in that area, I am told it is one of the best.... more

The hotel is great, super location, but the service....... For a 5-star hotel it is just not believable, what they call service in this hotel. In fact - there is no service. Bar staff doesn't understand english, is eating when you want to order drinks. When nobody is ordering drinks, they sit in the guests chairs and watch television or... more

It sounds to be very popular hotel in the net, I think it was because there been some great VIP stayed before. After experiencing staying there, it not worth at all. Yes, the exterior is beautiful, but the interior is so-so only. The rooms are of average standard, definitely not value for money. The location is ok. But I must... more

We stayed at the Hong Zhu Shan Hotel in Emeishan for 4 nights during a recent trip across China. It was relatively expensive (~$300US for 2 including 2 meals), even for a 5 Star Hotel in China. Despite a number of pros, there are numerous cons. Cons: (1) Service. This was hindered by communication problems. Few staff spoke English (or... more

I have mostly good things to say about the hotel. Clean, with a lake view, universally helpful and prompt staff many of whom speak English. Provided me with an universal adapter for the laptop. In -room computers with relatively fast Ethernet connection. Pretty good food. Excellent access to many nearby temples, especially the Crouching Dragon. "Fish therapy" in the spa... more

This hotel was amazing. It is definitely for the up-scale set. There was a giant bath tub with shower and a whole separate shower that faced the room which allows more light into the bathroom, a brilliant design scheme. The shower heads were those big watering can-type popular in the US. There was internet access in the room, flat screen... more

We stayed at this hotel as part of a tour organised by our travel agents www.travelchinaguide.com who had booked the accommodation. We were there to visit the Leshan Giant Buddha and also Baoguo Temple and Wannian Temple on Mt. Emei. We stayed in building #5, though there are different building spread out among the grounds. Our expectations were of a... more
