I stayed here for three nights with my partner in April. Its a really special place and probably worth the trip to el bolson just for the hostel alone. Pros: The staff knew our names on arrival and didn't forget throughout our stay (quite an achievement with 20+ guests each day). The garden is a beautiful place to relax (huge... More

I've been meaning to write this review since we returned home! We stayed at this hostel in Dec 2011 and it is still a highlight of my memories of Argentina. Absolutely friendly and helpful staff, beautiful home-made breakfast breads, home-made beers, hammocks for relaxing after a day hiking, chilly river to swim in, swaying lavender flowers... just beautiful! Like many... More

This would easily be among best hostels I've stayed in. The location sucks a bit, being so far out of town (but then that's also a plus, being in such a tranquil location). Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Came for 2 nights, stayed 5. Great vibe, very warm and homey, which encourages interaction between guests. Wood fire in the common... More

I stayed here for 5 nights with my husband. The first 4 we were in the double which is lovely and good value. Very quiet as its in a separate building to the hostel (though very close). The last night we were in the dorms, which are situated above the common areas. These were good as actually as the common... More

Amazing place! Really nice staff and the place is beautiful with a huge garden with a river (in which you can swim) and hammocks to relax in. They serve delicious homemade beer, and the food and local wines are great as well. There even were free yogaclasses! The livingroom is nice with a fireplace. Breakfast is great with homemade brown... More

This is probably the best hostel I've ever been to! They get everything right- great food, including super cheap but gourmet dinner, comfy common spaces, clean bathrooms, a big kitchen and staff who are friendly and attentive. Expect to stay a few days longer than you planned.

A lovely hostel. The staff is warm and helpful, the grounds are beautiful, the kitchen clean and well-equipped. When the chef is cooking (about every other night for a limited number of dinners) his meals are really special. Otherwise you can cook your own food, or sample the excellent empanadas or pizzas on offer. On a hot day the river... More

Amazing place, beautiful garden, so relaxing and peaceful, just reading a book on one of the hammock. The staff are so nice and helpful, the food there is amazing! don't miss out on the onion and cheese Empanada and try their dinner (changes for day to day), it's really good and great value for money! You can't go wrong with... More

Go no further, this place is your home away from home! Beautiful garden, cozy living room with a fireplace, home made bread and jam for breakfast, wonderful and super helpful staff that treats you as if you were their family member. La Casona seems to have the magic of making people stay. Many of us (including myself) make a reservation... More
