Kaba Kaba Grace and Kevin will try and make your stay at Kaba Kaba a worthwhile holiday experience. If it’s adventure or just a time to chill out, Coron, Busuanga is the Philippine island for you. Kevin can take you SCUBA diving or Grace will cook that special meal.Island HoppingThe Island of Busuanga has so much to offer. Take a day exploring some of the 700 island making up the group of Islands knows as the Calamianis. Organized tours includes lunch and entry fees to island beeches and viewing spots.SCUBA DivingHave a go at SCUBA diving. If you enjoy the water why not take a day and have a try. Kevin will take you to an island beach where you can try it out with an experienced instructor in shallow water. Once you’ve got the hang of it, it’s time to explore the reef and have an experience of a life time. After lunch on the boat and a chill on the island, if you’re up for it you can try another dive site. If you’re hooked on diving it’s time to get you license and dive the wrecks, some of the best dive sites in the world!!! No exaggeration. In 1944 the American navy launched an airborne attack from the East Coast of the Philippines to the western Islands of the Calamianis in the South China Sea where the Japanese had moved their supply fleet from Manila, thinking it was beyond the reach of the Americans. But the three squadrons of bombers had auxiliary fuel tanks to make the longest airborne navy raid of the 2nd world war. We now have twelve wreck sites that make Coron wreck diving one of the top ten wreck sites in the world. There is diving for all from wrecks at just a few meters below the surface to 45m dives for the suitably qualified and experienced diver. For qualified divers wreck diving can be a breath taking experience. Going down the line to the wreck for the first time is exciting at the same time as being an anxious moment thinking about you’re experience. For the experienced and adventurous diver the Coron wrecks make great penetration dives. From a gentle look into the cargo holds to exploring rooms on the lower deck levels and checking out the engine bays and propeller shafts.

We had a great stay at Kaba Kaba! The room was really nice with a lovely balcony to relax on. Our room was cleaned during our stay which was great. Kevin and Grace are incredibly helpful with everything. The breakfast was lovely and we hired a bike during our stay which was great. This is the place to stay in Coron especially as it's a little out of the town so is so lovely and quiet.

Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review. We know that staying out of town in the rain-forest with all the little critters is not for everyone but when guests appreciate what we enjoy every day it does give us a little buzz. Busuanga island is a great place to explore and enjoy we love it and its good to see others enjoy the island. Thanks again Cheers Kevin & Grace

We had a nice stay at Kaba-Kaba. Grace was very welcoming, kind and informative. The location is great.... just 10 minutes by trike from town. It was very easy and fun to catch the trikes to go into town then back! And though Coron town is a bit noisy, it is a great base to go island hopping and snorkeling! The snorkeling is exceptional !!!! Every day we would go to the boat pier, hire a boat (better to reserve the night before), go to the market with our boatman and buy the ingredients for our lunch, head out to sea, snorkel, eat the delicious lunch prepared by our boatman, laze on a remote island with crystal clear water and nice snorkeling just off the beach then head back to town. Just heavenly! Kaba-Kaba was a great base to do this from. And it would be perfect if just a little more maintenance were done on the cottages.

Kaba-Kaba is truly a hidden gem. Kevin and Grace go out of there way to make sure you have a great time! The staff (Alice) is very friendly and helpful. Only a 5-10 minute trike ride (costing 30-60 pesos) into the city, it's perfectly situated so you can relax and have a nice quite spot to enjoy the countryside. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

A really good place for a budget traveller to stay while staying in Coron. A quiet place only a 30peso trike ride away from Coron town. The hosts Kevin and Grace are a sweet couple and will go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Definitely will stay again in Kaba-Kaba when visiting Coron.

I stayed at Kaba Kaba in December with my partner. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed by Grace - one of the owners - who made sure to suggest activities in the area and book them for us. The room was great, beautiful view. Location was just a perfect. A 5 minute ride into town (and tricycles can be easily flagged down at any time of day and night), Kaba Kaba still gives you peace and quiet. Absolutely loved it!! Grace and Kevin made our stay memorable and I would definitely recommend it to others.

My fiancé and I stayed at Kaba Kaba our whole time in Coron and we had an absolutely wonderful experience. Kevin and Grace, the owners, were beyond hospitable, kind, and helpful. The accommodation was good and clean and well maintained. They have a breakfast menu available that tastes great and is well priced. They also have cold beer available at a good price. My fiancé and I both became ill unfortunately during our stay. (Not due to anything at Kaba Kaba, just a 24 hour bug) During that time Grace and Kevin were incredibly helpful, and it made our illness so much more tolerable and easier than it would have otherwise been. They have a pool that has a great area to relax around. The pool is cleaned daily by Kevin himself. Grace was hospitable enough to even invite us to join them for dinner one evening. They have a woman who works for them named Alice who is incredibly helpful. They will tel you all the best places to go and even book tours for you. They also have motorbikes for rent at a good price. All in all it was a great experience and if we come back to PI we will be sure to return. Grace and Kevin are a lovely couple and are always great to sit and have a conversation with.

Transfer from airport to accommodation was arranged by Kaba Kaba (150 php). The shuttle dropped me off right in front of the entrance. Kaba Kaba also has their own trike driver to drive you from the entrance up to the cottages. It’s short but steep climb on an unpaved, rocky dirt road that should only take a minute or two. It would be a challenge for those with heavy bags or roller-type luggage. Kaba Kaba is located 5 mins away from the Town via trike. Kaba Kaba is run by Grace (Filipina) and Kevin (Expat from England). They were very nice, friendly and great hosts. Nice enough to invite me to their house for dinner one night. Grace gave me a brief overview of the island and helped me book my tours through Calamianes Expeditions and Ecotours. She also explained how to get to town and how much to pay, which tours to take and avoid. Full of knowledge to share with a budget-oriented traveler, like myself. Breakfast is of good value. I did not partake since I hardly ever eat in the morning but from other guests, I told Alice cooks a decent breakfast. Juice, coffee and tea are also available. Motorbikes are available for rent for 500 php/day. The accommodation itself was as expected. I stayed in the Deluxe 2 (Yellow) cottage, which is already overkill for a solo traveler but it was the only one available at the time. You get a good view of the water and island. Filtered drinking water, kettle and tea are provided. Lots of plugs in the room. WIFI in the common/breakfast area upon request. Hardly any signal with SMART but if your provider is Globe, you should be fine. There is a fan in the room but I didn’t use it during the day since I was out enjoying the island partaking in various tours and at night it was already pretty cool due to the presence of a light breeze. Mosquito coil provided if mosquitoes are bothersome. During my stay, I didn’t really see much (if any) mosquitoes. There is a mosquito net over the bed for added protection. You get your own washroom and shower. Flush in my cottage did not work so you’d have to manually flush using the bucket method. The pool is great, albeit shallow. Great way to unwind after long day of island hopping. Very clean too. In terms of the nature aspect, it does offer you a good view. You can see the water and the surrounding islands from your balcony. Sunsets are amazing. Gives Mt. Tapyas a run for it’s money! Lots of wildlife too. You’ll get to see the occasional monkey or two. The rustling of sounds of geckos in and around your property. Your 6AM wakeup call courtesy of the roosters. Sit by the pool at night and gaze at the stars. No light pollution in comparison to if you were to stay in town. Not as noisy as it is a little bit away from the highway. II you enjoy the sights and sounds of nature, then this is the place for you. But if you squirm at the sight of geckos or insects and are used to 5-star boutique hotels, then you are looking at the wrong place. Thank you Grace, Kevin and Alice for your kindness and hospitality. You guys are awesome!

After 2 months on the road with our 4 kids we decided we needed some down time. We couldn't have planned it better than booking into Kaba Kaba! Perfect hosts in Kevin, Grace and Alice - it became our home for 12 days. Kaba Kaba has several structures on the property - we filled the guest house and a twin room. The guest house had a kitchen and plenty of space. Our older 2 boys shared a room up the hill with its own bathroom. The place is quirky and set about a 10 minute trike ride from town. It's set in the trees and just about has a view to the water through the trees. It is rustic and facilities are basic but it's perfect for the price. Alice will cook you a Filipino take on a full English and endless juice and tea for a reasonable price. There's a common area with a TV and Kevin and Grace are always around for a chat. There is a pool - and with the humidity you'll appreciate they ability to have a dip. Kevin cleans it every day and it's a lovely place to sit. Coron is known for diving and if you are in any way interested then this is a great place to stay - well priced, not far from town and Kevin is a retired Dive Instructor and has a wealth of knowledge of the area and the dive companies to go to. Alex and the older boys did the PADI Open Water certification and Rock Steady Diving and had a great time. I accompanied them on the second day with the little kids and we all had fun snorkeling while they were diving. It was a perfect holiday - with a trip on our last day to hidden water falls and a BBQ. If you can ride a motorbike they will rent you one and you'd be able to see much more of the island - lots of hidden gems. Grace and Kevin are perfect hosts, thank you.

We stayed for five nights and enjoyed every one. As said below, great hosts, decent breakfasts and good no frills bungalows with great views. It's a little out of town so trikes or bikes needed to get about. The best element is Kevin, an English dive instructor and wreck enthusiast who will take you out solo or as a couple to dive the incredible underwater spots around Busuanga for the same price as you'd do it with a boatful of other divers in town.

We had a great stay at Kaba Kaba! For a modest price (600p) you get a nice room with fan and private shower/bath, on top of a hill overlooking the island and the nearby monkeys. No water heater, but it is not necessary in this area. Grace and Kevin are the lovely owners of the place and are both really great to talk to about Coron and the activities nearby. You can even rent their motorcycle for a reasonable price, or get diving recommendations from Kevin, previously a dive instructor. Breakfast is delicious, with homemade bread. The only caveats preventing the 5th star: the hotel is a little bit out of town, which we didn't mind as the rooms are quiet and far from the town buzz, but you'll have to hop on a tricycle to get to town for 20-40p per person. No WiFi in the rooms. You can get the password for their wifi near the dining area if you're nice with them.
