This hotel is also know as Schlosshotel Burgstall. The building is the former stables and has been beautifull renovated with masses of character, much exposed timber and lots of antiques and artefacts. The rooms are huge, with a sitting room on the lower level and bedroom and bathroom upstairs. There is lots of wood and old furniture. We just wished that the upper room (light and airy) had been the sitting room and lower room the bedroom but it was lovely to have so much space. Perhaps the collection of furniture could be a little less eclectic and the bathroom is in need of modernisation, but the character was so great, we forgave these things. We ate in the garden, next to the pond with fountain. There is a great view of the castle from the bedroom and the outside eating area. The service was excellent and the food was well above the average quality in the area. The al dente vegetables were particularly welcome as these are almost unknown in Germany.
