Located close to the centre of town the Polebarn Hotel stands out because it;s run by a competent, friendly family, is well-fitted and comfortable. The property is Grade II listed, so there are limitations on changes and improvements, but nonetheless the rooms are clean, comfortable and well-equipped (flat screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, modern bathrooms). Be warned, there's no elevator. Liam... more

I can't believe the previous reviews, as soon I arrived I was greeting by the owners, who I found to be very friendly and helpful. OK the car park is a bit on the small side, but i still managed to get my van in there along with 2 others that were already there. The room was small but i... more

We stayed one night at the Polebarn. It is a somewhat faded Georgian gem. The Italian owners gave the impression that modernisation is always a step away. The reception desk is just a sideboard blocking a doorway and the decor needs attention. Our room was small and the bathroom basic with a telephone style shower that was either boiling or... more

I had booked this hotel for a special weekend away with my husband having looked only at their internet site. I agree completely with the couple who stayed in May. The website was very cleverly photographed. We were also on the top floor which was incredibly hot with the shower cubicle and sink next to the bed and the toilet... more

We booked the Polebarn Hotel for a special weekend away and were terribly disappointed with it on arrival. We agree with earlier comments that the website has used very clever photography, making the hotel look better than it actually is. On arrival, we found the reception not the most welcoming and the car park very dubious. Our room was on... more

We have just returned today from an overnight stay at the Polebarn Hotel. We had three double rooms and although two were on the small size, they were well furnished and comfortable, clean and all en-suite. The breakfast was lovely, lots of choice, with everything locally sourced. The restaurant was closed for an evening meal, but we found a lovely... more

Looking at their website, I cannot beleive it is the same place. It is very misleading and the pictures do not show the real look of the hotel. The rooms are very old fashioned, and the hotel looks run down. more

I stayed here on business for a couple of nights and have to say what a good time i had. i arrived shattered and was pleased to arrive to a comfortable room which seemed to be recently refurbished. There was a great basement bar there selling some good food, they had a pizza night there which was tasty and homecooked.... more

I am currently staying at The Polebarn Hotel on business as my companys Head Office is located in Trowbridge. I cannot fault any aspect of the hotel, the rooms are modest and this is reflected in the price of the hotel but they are clean, tidy and en suite. The family who own the hotel are in the process of... more
