Spent time here on a business trip and thought the staff were helpful and polite. The hotel is nice but a little dated. The wardrobe in my room must have been the smallest in the world. Never seen one which was only 6 inches deep before. Apart from this the room was nice and quiet. My main gripe is that... more

A great place to stay on business or with partner for a relaxing time. I have stayed twice recently for 3-4 days each time on business. Very comfortable bedrooms, good standard of service. Good business facilities. Some excellent meals served to our business group in stylish and private dining suites. Well appointed main restaurant very good for evening meals and... more

Dalmahoy is an old Country Mansion converted ito an hotel/spa/golf club. About 10-15 minute drive from Edinburgh Airport and 30-40 minutes from city centre. There's no point staying here unless you have no reason to visit Edinburgh or you have a car. There is virtually no public transport (bus takes about 1 !/2 hours from city) and cost of taxi... more

We found the time we spent here was one of the most relaxing of our holiday. We did however manage to get lost on a couple of occasions as our room was "down the stairs, down the hallway, down more stairs, around the corner, through the doors and the third on the right". This was a welcomed walk after a... more

We stayed three nights with two children. When booking was under the impression that breakfast was included, only to find out that it was not and we didn't have any printed backup. Not worth arguing. Went Sunday a.m. to eat in the Pentland restaurant and learned our options were a 12.95 or a 14.95 pound breakfast. We didn't want the... more

Stayed 2 nights in a 2 double bed room with our 2 children aged 3 & 7. Lovely driveway to the hotel with well manicured grounds, tennis courts. All staff very friendly and efficient. Bedroom very clean and well laid out. Leisure centre great too and fairly quiet. We used the driving range and putting green a couple of times.... more

I stayed at the Marriott Dalmahoy with my boyfriend and got a great deal - 2 nights with breakfast and dinner included on the 1st night all for £99 each! The hotel is gorgeous and although the rooms are situated in a new part of the hotel, they were still really nice - not too modern. Meal in the restaurant... more

Our party consisted of 2 adults and 1 child of 10yrs so we chose the Dalamahoy to escape all the hen and stag parties staying in Edinburgh City. The hotel and the grounds are lovely, very cosy and traditional. Our check-in was very quick and effiicient, we were informed of the various restaurants, leisure club etc etc. Trying to find... more

The reception and bar staff were very nice and helpful. The restaurant however ..... Did you know that in May in Scotland the roast leg of lamb is meant to be tough, sinewy, fatty, comes from the shoulder area of the leg of the animal and is served cold and inedible? Did you also know that this is because you... more

We stayed at the Dahmohoy Hotel for 2 nights over Easter. It was very nice and although we were in the new part of the hotel the room (Deluxe) was spacious and nicely presented. It was also spotless. We used the fine dining one night that was quite pricey but good quality. The girls at reception mentioned a canal walk... more
