This is in a local spot for us,great lunches sandwiches are the gold standard. Sunday lunch is a great choice of traditional and seafood. The new owners have succeeded In applying a very light touch on the building combines with tweaks to the menu. A great place to eat and drink. More

Great little hotel with fantastic staff, good beer and food. Very windy when we stayed, as we had loft rooms it was a bit noisy because of the wind, which some guests actually moaned about - crazy, the hotelier is not responsible for the weather. Beds were v.good, lovely duvets. If you want a hotel with real character, and stairs... More

My partner and I have stayed here just prior to Christmas and I have to say it is a lovely Hotel in fabulous surroundings. The breakfast was fantastic and the evening meals were almost as good. My only critsism would be that the menu did not offer a great choice especially as we stayed three nights and we had really... More

The wife and I have just returned from a wonderful couple of nights in The Castle. Great food, good selection of ales, friendly staff. Our room was well presented, clean and spacious and we had a great nights sleep. The breakfast was lovely, I would recommend the full shropshire breakfast. We will certainly be returning in the summer to enjoy... More

Well, we stayed at the castle last week and the building/ food were fantastic, we both could not fault the staff, food and general standard of the hotel. But the young and rude owner/manager (I say manager as he would not tell me what his position was) when I asked him while I was paying my bill and trying to... More

A great hotel, great location and fantastic food...... and better still, dog friendly! Our Choc Lab enjoyed herself as much as we did! The service is superb - very friendly, and very efficient (despite having 2 Christmas parties in with large number, the service was still amazing). Great to have a good selection of LOCAL ales. Loved the real fires... More

Great hotel, good location, wonderful food (Esp. breakfast). We stayed there rather than the (unfriendly) Dragon Hotel in Montgomery Wales. Good staff, great town walk down hill to other pubs (may need a ride back up, if you are not careful). More

A lovely hotel in a great position in the small town. Our tastefully decorated room had a comfy bed, a powerful shower, plenty of hot water, and was quiet. We ate in three nights and the food was extremely good, using local ingredients and well presented. Breakfasts were amazing, and kept us going all day! The staff were always friendly... More

A really lovely old pub in a quaint little village. The hotel has lots of character with uneven floors, tall ceilings and authentic furniture but is tastefully decorated and has all the modern features you need for a short break, such as free wifi and freeview channels. The rooms were really clean, shower was powerful and hot and beds very... More

Really atmospheric old hotel in a superb position overlooking the small but very interesting town of Bishops Castle. Stylish and tasteful renovations are nearly complete but it is already a very desirable and comfortable place to stay. The staff made us feel very welcome from the outset and we thoroughly enjoyed the excellent food and real ale. Thank you, Henry... More
