The George Hotel is a small, clean, and friendly hotel only a short 10 minute walk to a glorious golden beach, in a resort that has only one noisy taverna for young people. Local costs in restaurants are very reasonable, and extremely friendly. The restaurants in Golden Beach offer food that is average to above average in quality, however more superior cuisine can be found a short walk away in a neighbouring resort where waiting times for seating reflect the popularity of the atmosphere and food quality.

Many excursions are available throughout the high season, and include trips to Athens for the Olympics. These are well worth the price and time, as the Island has a combination of mountains, and loads of character.

The only downside to this accommodation was the very busy road on which the hotel now rests which has heavy lorries and mopeds racing at high speeds throughout the day and night. So if you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs! Nor is this is place... more
