We stayed at Kowhai Cottage in January during a trip to the Abel Tasman National Park and enjoyed it very much. Jill has converted 2 very large rooms in her home into comfortable and well appointed B&B rooms. She told us that she only accepts one party of guests at a time as there is only one bathroom and she’s found that people prefer not to share. (The bathroom is nice, native wood panelled, with a lovely deep bath).
There is a beautiful garden which is a lovely spot to relax in with its fish pond, varied plants and the biggest lemon tree you’ve ever seen. Jill obviously has very green fingers when it comes to gardening and produces some wonderful food from it as you’ll experience with the organic breakfast she serves. I have a feeling that she may have asked us if we wanted anything cooked for breakfast but we were more than happy with a continental style breakfast – and frankly we could have happily spent the whole morning relaxing on the terrace with fresh...
