When we said we were planning on a two night stay our hostess showed us a one-bedroom in the upstairs in the back of the motel. It was a fine choice. The large windows had a beautiful view overlooking a kiwi vineyard to the western mountains. Being away from the road it was very quiet. The unit was very large.... More

This motel was a good choice for us to explore this area. We initially booked it for the night before doing the Abel Tasman coast track, but we were so happy with it that we also booked it for the night after completing our 3 day trip. Would stay there again if we ever return to Motueka. More

A "must visit" part of my 2012 trip and motorcycle tour of New Zealand was the beautiful Tasman/Golden Bay region of the South Island. I passed through this region in 2011 and noticed the Avalon Manor Motels in Motueka. It seemed like a nice place to stay in Motueka and was a central spot that I could spend a few... More

Stayed here the night before a sea kayak trip in Abel Tasman. The rooms are spacious but there are a few rooms next to the laundry room that should be avoided as it's pretty load when someone has a wash on. Luckily we didn't get one of those but we could see some neighbours who seemed pretty unhappy about it. More

My husband and I have just spent three nights at the Avalon and we just couldn't fault it. The studio room we stayed in had everything we needed. It was spacious, light, modern, very comfortable and clean. It is very conveniently located and was only a few blocks stroll into town. We will definitely be staying at the Avalon if... More

My wife and I were heading out on the Abel Tasman the next day for a 5 day trip with Wilsons and chose this spot to spend the night before. Very large rooms, perfectly clean and only 2-3 blocks from the downtown core of restaurants and shops, great value for money! More

Lovely reception upon arrival. Very friendly. Studi unit was large with great bed and leather sofa. Good bathroom and I thoroughly enjoyed the spa bath! Would stay again. More

We were booked here as part of a tour and were very happy with the accommodation. The room we had was quite plain and the bathroom a bit dated but the room was huge and all was spotlessly clean. The continental breakfast was delivered the evening before and was good value. Would stay here again. More

We stayed at this hotel over Christmas and were absolutely satisfied. Good-sized room with kitchenette, comfy bed, nice balcony and a great bathroom with spa. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Free parking, free wifi, cheap laundry, free dvds,...What more could you ask for? Great gateway for trips to the Abel Tasman, roughly 15-20 mins drive to Kaiteriteri. Main... More

This is a great spot overlooking a kiwi plot and the mountains. Although it is on the main drag it is quiet and well equipped for a long stay. The kitchen allowed us to cook and the way the hotel is laid out makes for quiet between units. Motueka is a terrific place to base yourself for exploring the Abel... More
