We chose this hotel thinking it would be ideal base for Abel Tasman. It was however a good 30-40 mins drive to get to either Kaiteriteri or Marahau. Sadly we had lousy weather with heavy rain most of the time so curtailed our stay. The new owners Alan and Lisa were charming and very friendly and have done a great... more

Thank you for your kind review, it's great when guests take time to leave comments. I was a bit concerned that it took you a good 30-40 minutes to get to Kaiteriteri as it has never taken me any more than 20 minutes to get there. This is one of the reasons Motueka is so popular as it is such...

This is a wonderful place to stay while exploring Abel Tasman. Our 1BR unit had a bedroom with very comfortable bed, living room with fold-out couch, small bed and TV, patio area overlooking a shared lawn, bathroom with excellent shower, and the best equipped kitchen of any place we stayed in NZ with pots, pans, cooktop, oven, fridge, and microwave,... more

Equestrian Lodge Motel was our base for spending time in Abel Tasman National Park. We could not have chosen a better lodging. Had everything we needed - lots of space, full kitchen, beautiful gardens, pool, spa, guest laundry, reasonable wireless internet rates and most of all very gracious and helpful hosts. The lodge is located a couple of blocks off... more

Typical Kiwi motel accommodation in a beautiful and quiet garden setting close to town - high standard of presentation and cleanliness, charming hosts who stored our car while we walked the Abel Tasman - what more could be asked? While in Motueka we ate at Simply Indian for dinners and The Red Beret for daytime meals. Both first class restaurants... more

We stayed in the family unit with my partner and my parents. Alan and Lisa had only been running it for a short time but you would never have guessed. They were incredibly friendly and welcoming and did every thing they could to make our stay the best we could have hoped for....which they did hands down. The unit that... more

A group of 6 ladies shared the family unit for a weekend in Motueka. From the 1st enquiry Lisa was courteous, helpful & welcoming. Our unit was spacious, & everything about it clean & fresh. We were all thrilled and it was heard said '... better than home!' Terrific bathroom & space in the kitchen to have a ball! Lovely... more

The owners are terrific. They did more than I would have ever expected any management staff to please its guests. I think if I had asked, the owner would have lent me his BBQ equipment to enjoy the patio and outdoor gardens. The motel is convenient to the main business district yet far away for the quiet of a residential... more

We were delighted to find we had such spacious accomodation. It was lovely and clean, although perhaps a little 80's. I guess the owners will get around to refursbishing when they have been there a little longer. We had a huge bedroom and the children did too, a large living area with a great little kitchen. We had doors opening... more

Great room, with all the facilities you could want, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Nice balcony overlooking the pool and garden for have that pre-dinner glass of wine. Alan & Lisa (new owners) are very friendly and helpful. Location is close to town, easy to walk to several good eating places, try the Gothic restaurant in the old church -... more

Very quiet but central location with beautifully maintained gardens. The owners were always available to help. The room was large and extremely comfortable and clean. It opened out onto the garden and you could sit outside (if it is not too hot). The kitchen was well fitted and the laundry had two washing machines with the use of an outside... more
