It’s very hard to rate this hotel in normal sense. Because normally, if you pay $300 a night, you would expect at least 4 stars’ standard. But Newman is a mining town, Mia Mia is one of only two hotels in Newman. The mining boom pushed the price up for everything, hotels there are not exceptional. Here I just want... More

This is a hotel in a mining town so you will not get anything flash. At $300 a night for a very small room which includes breakfast. The free WiFi dos not work, tried several times with different codes with no luck. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Probably one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in - it is really a mine camp providing accommodation for FIFO workers. The rooms are tiny, no natural light because you need to keep the blinds drawn for privacy - the bathroom was smelly with nowhere to even put a toiletry bag. Breakfast is served from 4.30 to 6.30... I have eaten here many times, and coming from a smaller town with no restaurant Mia Mia restaurant was a true blessing with lovely food and staff...until tonight. I was ordering my fortnightly takeaway when they no longer cater for people with food intolerances. (I am lactose Intolerant.... its not that difficult to take the cheese of a chicken parmy..... Enjoyed a lovely evening meal, we ate early, at 6pm, service was quick and the food very tasty. The menu was varied and lots of appealing things. I enjoyed a lovely Barra dish. Complementary oysters to start which was a pleasant surprise.

Went here for lunch, moved my seat in and yuk, moist chewing gum stuck to the chair! I order the fish and chips the fish was pink in the middle it was raw, I get a steak sandwich and no salad like the people I was with. Can they get it right I go to pay and only charge me... More

This, unfortunately, is one of those places that are typical of the Pilbara - because of the mining boom they think they can get away with anything. The coffee is terrible, the food is ok but way overpriced but the service is abysmal. I left my cap behind at my table and on returning the next day was told by... More

We didn't stay here, but we ate meals and had coffees here often when we stayed with relatives in Newman. Yes the service can be a bit slow, especially during slow times, and the staff show an inability to anticipate the needs of their customers. We had a Birthday Celebration here on a busy Saturday night, with 3 kids and... More

This is an unlikely place to find comfort, but I think it is a fantastic hotel. I have stayed here many times driving from Perth to Darwin, and to pull in to a place that not only has immaculate if small rooms, with LCD TV and nice bathrooms, but also has a fantastic restaurant which, if full, delivers room service,... the service that is at this hotel is astonishing.....absolutely awful!!! the laziness of the staff is evident in the way they are presented to clientele and how they react in the restaurant. the food was OK, but service shocking.........and to top it off the manager of the hotel didnt seem to care about not only our complaint, but also several...
