Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We enjoyed our stay and found the twin room a bit small but managed to get our cases under the bed out of the way. Bathroom of good size and the shower was lovely. No problem with water pressure or temperature. Beds comfortable and had no problems sleeping. Only noise we heard was the puppies barking but as they were only puppies it was more a yip than a bark. They were so cute too. Breakfast was lovely and Elaine popped in now and again to make sure everything was alright and we had enough. We had Highland cow sausages for 2 of our breakfasts, very tasty. Elaine remained professional throughout despite a major family issue. Always chatty and plenty of advice about where to eat and where to avoid. Nice little walk down to the shore line to see the ‘Highland Coo’s’. Not long since calving so we got to see the cute calves. This property is off the beaten track so recommend your own transport. Parking has been laid out for approximately 5 cars, so I guess that’s 1 or 2 per room. We didn’t use the lounge but it looked big and comfortable with a large TV if you need it.

Thank you for your review, i am glad you enjoyed your stay. The puppies have now all gone to their new homes so only the 1 left. Calfing now finished at the shore so the calves are bigger and noisy with anyone walking past!! Thanks again for your feedback

Pleasantly remote….but not too much. Lovely house and accommodation. Host, Elaine dedicated to providing a spotless establishment, with many thoughtful touches. Breakfast delicious. Would recommend and stay again. Ate a supper of fish and chips outside, bought locally. .

Warm welcome, beautiful room and wonderfully peaceful location. Stayed for 3 nights on a work trip but would definitely stay again when visiting oban. Would recommend own transport but taxis easily available. Clean and comfortable, beautifully decorated room with everything you could need. Great guest lounge and plenty of parking. Great breakfast provided too. Highly recommended *****

Scrupulously clean establishment run by the redoubtable Elaine who majors in getting to know her clients. Comfy but squeaky bed, decent towels and sometimes a shortage of hot water. Breakfast served in your small room at 8am, (nowhere to eat it!) - a lorne sausage bap was a first for me! We were there by default as another booking had failed to materialise but doubt we will return due to the remote location.

Thank you for your review following your stay, as you said you hadn't actually booked with me as your other accommodation had overbooked and my room was available for the 1 night. The hot water had a fault and the plumber arrived at 7pm on a Sat night and had the problem resolved within minutes. Breakfasts are served in your room at the moment due to covid restrictions. We are in a rural location which obviously was not your choice and the fact you were booked for dinner up near Fort William would make travelling an issue.

Nice big clean ensuite room, bed very comfortable. A very quite off piste spot. Hostess likes a chat but she is very friendly and we had all we needed and more. Breakfast was restricted due to Covid regulations but was still as good as it could be under the circumstances. Would recommend to anybody and would go back again any time. Loved it.

We stayed two nights at this guesthouse and were made very welcome. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The bed was very comfortable and we slept very well both nights. Breakfast was very good for variety, wholesomeness and presentation. Because of ferry cancellations we could not fulfill the reason for our visit so are planning another visit next year and will try to book here again.

Stayed for two nights and have to say great nights and days, lovely peaceful setting surrounded by nature and handy for oban, for a day trip and further afield to the Isles. Property is beautiful inside looked after by superb hostess Elaine, rooms tastefully decorated tea/coffee TV, en suite double room also a separate lounge with small balcony, warm welcome and chat from Elaine and she is full of local knowledge, and knows how to make a great filling breakfast, a great location for keen cyclists. Definitely use it as a base again.
