At 120km form Kiruna's Ice hotel (a long day on snowmobile) if you are ready for a real adventure, you must try this one!
For 2700SEK /person/night, we had 3 tiny cabins for 8 people, set on a frozen lake. You get to do your own ice fishing, lying down in your bed. Though the staff is very kind and helpful, we had difficulty surviving the cold. -35°C outside, well below 0° inside, even with the small gas heater in the cabins set at maximum power. The food cooked in the dining tent was delicious, but it was difficult to enjoy it while shivering with cold and barely seeing what we were eating, because of the tiny gas lamps. The wood heated sauna saved us.
Still, an unforgettable stay, in the most beautiful place, with incredible Northern lights throughout the night.
Make sure you order the hot tub, as it must be prepared in advance. more
