Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We enjoyed our two night stay at the Hotel Schopfenhof and will definitely come again. The most amazing part were the just breathtaking view both from our apartment window and the infinity pool. The wellness area in general is very lovely. We got a free upgrade to one of the new apartment rooms Herman‘s, which were very modern and had everything you need. The area is great for various hikes and tours. The breakfast and dinner was also good.

We chose this hotel because of the panorama pictures we saw, and we weren't disappointed. You have spectacular views from the hotel grounds and the rooms. The rooms are large, clean, but pretty basic. It doesn't amaze you in any way. The restaurant is nice, dinner is very good (not "wow", but good). The breakfast on the other hand is pretty poor. On our fourth day we were just tired of the same things. If you're travelling with kids, they have some kind of small play room somewhere in the building, which was very useful for us, early in the mornings :) There are a lot of german guests in the hotel, and you do get the impression that the staff tends to be more helpful to them, than other guests, as most staff speaks only German :) The surroundings are good, there are a lot of fun things to do for families in the area. If we would come back to this area, we would definitely choose this hotel again.

We came back again and again to this wonderful place to stay overnight and enjoy the a few days skiing. The rooms are wonderfully done and you can never go wrong with the dinner and breakfast. The one thing that makes it very special is the family that welcomes you _ parents at the reception and daughter at the table and also other staff at the dinner (the always smiling lady _ that for the second year I have forgotten her name) Last time we were very late on arrival and they made their best to accommodate us for dinner _ thank you again. The hotel is situated on an high side mountain over viewing the San Candido Town and mountains. The view is delightful on winter and on summer time. Breakfast is huge, tasteful, with typical products, but they are also aware about vegan and vegetarian requests. The rooms are clean and the staff is helpful and really kind. Top hotel

It was special to reach the hotel after a long drive from Ottobeuren. The GPS lost its way and we followed some scarce signs ultimately to the hotel. It is located close to San Candido but already high on the mountain. We took the 5km scenic road up. But you can also reach the hotel by a steep low quality road of less than 1km length. This hotel is a bit old fashioned and wifi was not good. But food was really excellent and the people were very friendly. The views of the mountains in the evening and the morning from you balcony are fantastic. I have no idea though how you get up in winter.

Hotel Schopfenhof is a small family run hotel that feels like home away from home. The owners speak some English as well as Italian and German. The hotel has spectacular views of the mountains which we were lucky enough to face from our balcony. (Pictured) Our room was cosy and comfortable and we loved the blackout blinds. Like the whole hotel it was immaculately clean. The owners are very friendly and helpful and collected us from the local station as well as dropping us of to go skiing. We preferred not to drive so the shuttle service was perfect. The local skiing is excellent and there is even a heated ski store to dry your equipment. The breakfast is a buffet with everything you could want in the morning including little homemade cakes and treats. They also serve lunch/dinner. We ate dinner there every day and the food was incredible. The chef changes the menu daily and it’s always a mix of Austrian/Italian food. We also used the spa every day after skiing. It was clean and quiet and a perfect place to relax before dinner. Thank you for such a lovely stay, I will definitely return!

Location, Room, Spa, Food & Customer service at the top. We have stayed 2 years ago and we came back. The Family driven hotel is still in my heart. An excellent place to be for sport lovers (running, ski, trail) and also for less fit like lying around in the sun, walks and a Train ride to Austria
