First of all, when planning to go in Corfu, be prepared to spend a lot of money in transports as public transportation is very rare (only a few buses between Corfu town and some localities). You need to rent a car or to take (expensive) taxis. The Akrotiri Beach Hotel is definitiely not a 4 star. The location is magnificent... more

We emailed and requested a good sea view as this is the most important part we feel of a good holiday, and we were not disappointed. Room 501 has a stunning view of the bay. Could sit for hours. However the room was like an oven when we arrived and even the air con struggled. We had read the reviews... more

It is a clean hotel, about 30 year-old, has been only partially redecorated. I do not recommend eating at the restaurant, choice is very limited (esp in the morning) (we had half-board). There are two beaches very close to the hotel. One of them is actually not a beach but just rocks (good enough for experienced swimmers, I guess) and... more

As everybody else we loved the stuntning views. The staff were helpful and friendly. The food was ok (hb) and enough. Basic rooms but very clean all with terrace and sea view. Also the AC was free. The pool very clean and with a beautiful view, the kids loved it. We enjoyed the aqua park trip, but hated the Blue... more

We stayed for a few days at either end of a Grand Tour of Greece and apart from the stunning views there is little else to commend it. It caters for tours passing through for a couple of nights and reflects that in its services. The menu is a choice of three dishes together with a starter and a desert... more

Like previous reviews, I agree that the hotel is an example of faded seventies grandeur; the facilities were quite adequate, exceptionally clean and the staff merely superb. Our room had stunning views, loud air-conditioning but with the merit of being free, and an OK bathroom. At least there was no toilet tissue trauma as the pipework was quite modern. Half-board... more

Yes it is true what all the reviews say, the interior is tired and outdated. However it is immaculately clean, the staff are lovely (apart from one man who is on the desk in the evenings and is mega-grumpy and unhelpful) and the view really is to die for. We booked half-board which was a mistake as the evening meal... more

we arrived at this hotel in a thunder storm and it reminded us of Fawlty Towers in that it had a worn look of the 70's. We went out side to look at the pool as well as to find some food and was met by the greek Basil Fawlty with a "Do you want FISH". Well the food was... more

As long as you dont expect the Ritz (or anything close), you will be happy. The Akrotiri is terribly dated, the woodwork seems to have 25 layers of horid orangy/yellow paint on it, the rooms are dull and dismal, though in fairness, clean and functional. The bar is.......well dull and dismal and the restaurant is yes, dull and dismal. All... more

Akrotiri Beach Hotel, Paleokastritsa, Corfu. My wife and I stayed here from 15th-29th Sept 06. The Staff were excellent. Wonderful views. There is a free bus service to Corfu Town and generally the place was clean, were the positives of the Hotel. When we arrived we deliberated whether to check out immediately, as we did not know of anything better... more
