We stayed for one night in a family room with our young daughter as we were attending a family event in the area. The location of the hotel is fabulous with wonderful views of the sea. Initially, the hotel seemed friendly and cosy - that was until we actually had to stay there. We arrived late following our family function... more

I loved the location and the views were fantastic! I had a lovely newly decorated room which was very clean and tidy. The staff were really nice and the evening meal was lovely & well worth the price! I also had a full english breakfast which was included in the price of the room. Really enjoyed my stay there :-) more

Stayed at short notice. Got a double room with french doors en suite for only £60.00 per room per night. Were shown to our room by a young very polite lady. The room was bright clean and tidy. the price also included full English breakfast which was excellent. This is the first time I have written a review on the... more

At first, I read some of the comments about the hotel, and was a little worried I wasn't going to enjoy my stay. I stayed the weekend after visiting family. We arrived on the friday night, to be greeted and shown to our room. We were told about the steak and wine night they do on a Friday (15.95!!!! Cant... more

I have been travelling from Huddersfield and visiting the Spa Hotel between two and four times a year now for the last six or seven years, and have seen several changes of ownership. The hotel has always been clean and friendly, but in the past it has been a little tired - just in need of a little TLC. The... more

One of the worst places to stay we have found. Dated, dirty and distasteful. Way overpriced. At breakfast I asked for just the bacon and egg - no sausage beans toms etc, - that is exactly what I got. 1 bacon and 1 egg - embarrassing. See picture. All very young staff - no management evident anywhere. more

We had read the reviews on tripadvisor so we knew what we were expecting and the first impression from outside was a stunning location overlooking Saltburn bay, the cliffs and the sea lift. However on closer inspection the frontage looked like it could do with a good lick of paint and the reception area needs a redesign. We were greeted... more

I went with a relative on a cycling trip to the NE of England and found the fantastic seaside town of Saltburn. It is a Victorian town with a cliff lift, minature railway, beach huts, promenade, and a pier with was the made the pier of the year for 2009. Saltburn Bank is a steep hill and near the top... more
