We stayed four nights in the Cart Shed at the end of April six adults and baby and found that we all had plenty of room, three double rooms each with en suite ,large sitting room with panoramic views and well equipped kitchen . Owing to the cold weather the under floor heating kept the building at a constant warm temp... More

Dave and Jackie excellent hosts. Cart shed has three en-suite rooms. Was B&B now you can rent the whole place! Kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, dryer (although clothes can dry overnight on the clothes pulley). Towels, hand made soap, small marmalades and raspberry jam - all the little touches that make things special. Sustainable water and doing all they can... More

We had a wonderful stay at Grindon Farm! It is within a few miles of the main sections of Hadrian's Wall, Saxon sheep folds, major battles and 4000 year old burial mounds. A history buffs paradise. The accommodation was very comfortable and Jackie and Dave have just switched from B&B to self-catering, which it is perfectly setup for. Jackie and... More

We stayed in the converted cartshed after an arduous walk over the central section of the Hadrian's Wall path, and we were blown away by how lovely the accommodation was, and how friendly the owners Jackie and Dave were. We felt truly taken care of, and we had the whole living room area to ourselves which has excellent views looking... More

I stayed in the b&b during a charity walk of Hadrian's wall which is very nearby so I didn't have time to explore the area. It is a very relaxing and attractive conversion with a conservatory style communal area overlooking the lovely countryside although some walkers may prefer the old repeater station b&b up the road. The room was well... More

We stayed at the Old Farmhouse and our New Zealand family were looking forward to experiencing a famous northern welcome. However, if what we experienced is typical of what travellers experience - give me a southern welcome any day! Yes, we understand that the owners were away, but it is a farm with sheep and chickens needing to be fed... More

What a beautiful farm! Quiet and peaceful with gorgeous views. Jackie and Dave are wonderful hosts. Jackie served us a delicious dinner and Dave made a great breakfast. We stayed at the Cartshed and were the only guests there so we had the living room to ourselves. Sitting on the comfortable sofa and looking through the down-to-the-floor windows, it was... More

We recently hiked Hadrian's Wall and had the good fortune to stay at Grindon Farm. Some places we stayed were really nice but this place is beautiful. The hosts are wonderful and know just when to give you the information you need or the quiet space you desire. Breakfast was delicious but the view from our little cottage was breathtaking.... More

Excellent one night B&B stay as a family. Also available as self catering for longer stays. Extremely friendly. Excellent dinner as well as breakfast. Well decorated. Great views. We had a conservatory style living room as well as dining room. Children enjoyed feeding the chickens in the morning and being on a farm. Only negatives: curtains (vertical blinds) were not... More

Stayed in the Old Farmhouse 13-20 April - myself and husband and a close friend (all in our 50's) and her daughter, a mere youngster in her 20's, and a small white westie. Great accommodation with spectacular views. Many hours spent watching the weather move over the hills. In a week we had everying that England could find - sunshine,... More
