We returned here a year ago after a lapse of some years. Our credit card, offered for security, was debited for the full amount, months before our holiday. This was corrected, following my protest, and generous apology made. When we arrived after a long drive, this year, at about 2:00pm we were told that access was at 3:00pm. No effort... more

We chose this particular hotel a few years ago because of fantastic location and the fact that they allowed dogs - even in the cosy wee local bar where the locals fussed over them. We were never disappointed when it was a Best Western property - the staff, food and service (and locals in the pub) were all excellent -... more

Our stay at the Hotel was superb, the surrounding countryside is breathtakingly beautiful, and it was a delight to return in the evenings to a warm welcoming hotel that served great food and had a charming bar area complete with real log fire and a fine collection of single malt whiskies. We had an amazing 4 poster bed in a... more

This hotel is old and in need of a major renovation. It is rated as a 4 star and I would not give more than 2 stars. Rooms are large and spacious but very tired. Our traveling companions had encrusted bird poop on their lampshade. Our bath was crusty at best. I would not recommend until necessary updates are done. more

Booked a twin room at the Boat Hotel for 1 night on 18 September 2009 through Visit Scotland. It was our last day of touring the Highlands for our 25th wedding anniversary. We were allocated room 109. The room was clean but had several flaws i.e cracked wash hand basin, cracked window pane, hole in the wall and horrible view.... more

Didn't stay at the hotel but visited for a meal following a highly enjoyable visit to RSPB centres in the area. The hotel staff were mixed in their levels of service, some attentive to see us to our table, others rather disinterested in food service even sliding tea candles across the table as they passed. The food provided was of... more

From the minute we stepped over the door we were met by smiling faces and very very polite service. Our suite (room 102) had a bright and spacious relaxing atmosphere, a lovely view and windows all round that opened to a soft gentle breeze after a warm drive of 2hours. We had a cup of refreshing tea and headed out... more

A little alarmed on arrival at hotel appearance, and was glad we were only there for one night.Boat hotel certainly needs major refurbishment ! Carpet on staircase worn and dangerous. The food was good quality but extremely overpriced we thought. The television in our room was very old with poor picture and only received 4 channels. Not satellite as advertised!... more
