Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I booked the hotel to celebrate my birthday with 50+ guests. The buffet and room with outside garden space were excellent. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The venue is lovely and I would recommend this place.

Hotel's Favourite
A friend booked 5 rooms at the Alexandra court hotel congleton, for 1st September 2022. Friends were getting married nearby and so we thought this hotel was close to the venue and it suited as we could be all together . I arrived with a friend around 1:40pm, the front parking was full but it was well signed for parking at the rear. We checked in and were shown our rooms, which were extremely clean, fresh and of a good size with clean fresh decor. The bathroom had a big walk in shower, toilet and sink, it was well presented with lovely fresh decor. The hotel itself was very well presented, clean with an attention to detail. The owners were excellent, extremely friendly and polite, nothing was too much for them. Breakfast was excellent, a big choice of continental and full English breakfast, cereal, juices and hot beverages available. So would I stay again? Yes ! Worth the money? Yes! If I have to give one downside, it’s the price of alcohol. Not cheap, In fact more expensive than city centre Manchester. That a side, a beautiful hotel amazing owners and staff, beautiful grounds and great for walking in to the town from. A massive:- 10 out of 10!!

Lovely warm welcome from Marcio on arrival and excellent customer experience throughout our stay. The hotel is beautifully decorated and our room was elegant and impeccably clean with the best of sheets, towels and bedding. The breakfasts were delicious, cooked to order and served on fresh linen table clothes in a warm and inviting breakfast room. There’s a very nice guest lounge on the ground floor that has relaxing music playing - so relaxing we fell asleep on the comfy rocking chairs! I could go on but please book and see/experience for yourself.

last minute booking and what value. Beautiful period building and furnished to the highest standard, decor and furnishings are superb. Lovely large room, huge bed, spotlessly clean. Very attentive service, shown to the room, cant really fault anything, only comment is that there was an unpleasent drain smell in the bath room, but old building, old pipes, so forgiven. Highly recommend.

Hi Nigel , Thank you for your great feed back , and positive comments we really appreciate them. With regards to the bathroom had you brought it to our attention we could have moved you, as we did notice the issue when the team when in the next day, and the problem has been resolved and doesn't relate to old buildings and pipes, as we take great pride in our cleanliness, and be reassured that this isn't an ongoing issue . Kind Regards Andrew

This place is a very popular wedding venue. Andrew, the owner, is an award winning chef however they only serve breakfast but what a breakfast it is indeed. The Building is a heritage building but the ensuite rooms are amazing. The location is great and the gardens and grounds are so welcoming. Maggie the dog is a great wee soul and the staff member Mauricio is always ready to help out. You can even have a service wash of your clothing done at a great price. Parking is ample and easy. We always stay here when we visit from Canada.

We booked this hotel for our wedding as we wanted a small intimate affair and from our first visit we knew this would be perfect. A small charming hotel with lovely elegant rooms, beautiful bedrooms and gardens. Andy (the proprietor) and his team guided us step by step through the arrangements and also gave us freedom to decorate the rooms the day before, adding our own touches for the day. The staff being helpful, friendly and could not do enough for us. The day was the perfect intimate wedding we envisaged. The wedding breakfast was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. Andy also made the wedding cake which was incredible in looks and tasted delicious. The evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all, especially ourselves we could not have asked for more. The Bridal suite was spacious and beautifully presented. And a great breakfast was enjoyed by all, the following morning. Overall, we would definitely recommend this hotel for Weddings, functions or overnight stays and would absolutely use this hotel again.

This was my second business trip to the area, coming only weeks after I first visited Congleton just before Christmas 2023. As before, I was greeted by the very helpful joint owner / proprietor who was attentive from the outset and was expecting me. He’d rang ahead several hours before to check on when I’d be landing. A short mention of the safety / fire procedure was followed by a trip to my room where I was introduced to a superbly furnished room, carefully and sympathetically adorned with boutique style swags and tails style curtains etc - all in keeping with the period architecture. A truly gorgeous hotel that felt like home from the outset. I was taken to the cosy bar complete with log fire, a glance into the breakfast room and a reassurance that I had all I needed for my single nights stay. The chap couldn’t have been more helpful if he’d dare try - I needed to hit that bed quick as I wasn’t feeling that well! I enjoyed the sleep of my life on a bed I struggled to leave. I managed it though. Had a lovely hot shower, finished off with fluffy white towels, a great cup of coffee before I exited to the dinning room - my full English breakfast was off the scale!! Cooked to perfection, a bespoke selection created exactly to my liking - these people wanted me to stay forever surely? Treating me like this? My word, words escape me. I was beyond impressed. I’m just looking for an excuse now to return again very soon. Well done guys - you really know what you’re doing. Thank you. I eventually managed, regre

Had a great stay, the staff are amazingly friendly and the breakfasts are nothing short of amazing. Was shown to my room amazing service. The bed was possibly the best I have ever slept in, in a hotel. The room was clean comfortable and I slept like a log. I was stuck on the Monday morning, couldn't get a taxi for love nor money, but the owner was a saviour and helped me out, couldn't have asked for more!!! Great place, Great staff, Great food.
