So glad we came across Gatcombe Farm. We had an amazing 3 night break. The bedrooms had everything we needed, it was comfortable, super clean, with an ensuite shower room. Breakfasts were delicious with a good choice and we're superbly prepared and cooked. Julie the owner was lovely and made sure we had everything needed she was also able to give great recommendations for surrounding areas. This working farm makes a great base to visit the area of Devon. We did nearby coastal walks and scenic car drives of the coast which were spectacular. This beautiful georgian farm house which offered tranquility and comfort was one of the best I have stayed in, I would highly recommend it and would definitely go back to.

Julie Reed offers two rooms at Gatcombe Farm. Julie is fantastic! She is very helpful with the local area for restaurants and even printed directions for how to walk from the farm into Seaton, Beer, and Branscombe if your time permits. We loved being able to walk and leave the car behind during the day! Our room was a nice size, with a large window. The bathroom was stocked with toiletry supplies (shampoo, soap etc.) and the shower was a nice size with great water pressure! Our breakfasts were delicious. Julie provides a form that guests fill out the evening before. Gatcombe Farm is a short drive to Seaton, Beer, Sidmouth and even Lyme Regis. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to other travelers!

Another wonderful restful stay with Julie at the farm. Comfortable clean rooms, glorious farmhouse breakfast, a warm welcome and Julies lovely cake. Everything you could possibly want or need is provided, a lovely selection for breakfast and a beautiful view of the garden and the various birds while eating it. I returned to Gatcombe farm 30 years after visiting as a kid. The service is outstanding, superb breakfasts and the rooms are very comfortable. It's such a relaxing place to go. I particularly liked the attention to detail with the customer service. You get to pre order a specific breakfast the night before. I personally recommend the full English.

Just spent a few days at Gatcoombe farm. We had an interesting talk to the woman who looked after the milking Cows, we learnt a few things we never knew before. The room was really clean, and lots of varietys for breakfast. Julie was very welcoming and informative. The farm was really quiet at night so was very peaceful just a few mooing cows in the morning but not too early, but to be expected on a farm. My highlight of the stay was having a little play with one of Julie's families puppy, a cute cocker spaniel called Mabel. Think my husband Dave fell in love with her. If we are in the area in the future we would not hesitate to stay at Gatcoombe farm. Thankyou Marion and Dave.

We had a lovely stay, the room was very comfortable, the breakfasts were delicious and Julie was very friendly and interesting to talk to. Unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to look around the farm as we only stayed 2 nights and we were too busy visiting the local attractions. We recommend The Donkey Sanctuary and the Seaton Tramway both very enjoyable.

Had a fantastic time at Gatcombe. Super friendly, great breakfast, fantastic location & lovely room with a great shower. Even got the kids off of their devices for a hour or two. What’s not to like. Highly recommended if you’re into farm stays and a great option even if you’re not.

We had a fabulous short stay at this beautiful farmhouse, lovely quiet location in a gorgeous little valley. The family made us very welcome and the breakfast was one of the best I have had, wonderful local produce. Delicious! Our room was large and clean, excellent bathroom and a communal lounge available downstairs. It’s a busy working farm but we weren’t disturbed at all, the walking from the farm is wonderful, beautiful views once you walk up the track. Don’t approach from the land on the south? It’s a very rough track! The lane from the north is a proper roadway,

Me and Jean stayed five nights in early September. After a warm welcome from Julie. We were told where are room was. Due to Covid 19 , measures Juile as put in place at the farm. But the measures in no way detracted from a fantastic stay. The room was lovely and spacious and spotlessly clean , with a great large en suite bathroom. We were then served , tea and coffee and gorgeous home made cake in the dining room. Where the full Aga english breakfast was served...plus ample other choices for breakfast. There are lots of walks on the farm . Robert , Juiles , husband was only too willing to take time out and chat avidly about the farm and answer any questions we had. It really felt like a home from home. And was a very relaxing and fantastic break away. We will certainly be returning in the future.
