I stayed at Awaroa Lodge just after Christmas with friends, and had such a fabulous time, that I decided to stay again for a couple of nights at Easter after walking the Abel Tasman Coastal Track during the holiday weekend. Again I found the staff to be super friendly, and very helpful. A friendly welcome at Reception after three days... More

My husband and I recently walked three days on the Abel-Tasmen coast track, staying in our trusty backpacking tent most of the way, and decided to splurge on a night at Awaroa Lodge for our final night since it was near our wedding anniversary. We were there the final weekend of the season and there was only one other party... More

We were booked in to the lodge by our travel company and were a bit concerned about making the ferry on time as we had a long drive to get there. However the boat trip to the lodge with Wilsons was excellent and the Lodge was a magic place. Being dropped off on the beach and having your luggage collected... More

Myself and my girlfriend stopped in at Awaroa lodge on our second day of walking to grab a beer and some food after a long days hike. To get to the lodge you don't really add much time onto your walk and i actually think it is an easier bit of track than the skyline one which it meets up... More

Our primary objective in staying at Awaroa was to do some walking in the reserve and relax. We achieved this but we also had a great dining experience. We stayed at the lodge for three nights and, on the first night, were slightly worried that the menu was fairly short. On the first night, we had fish (trumpeter) and it... More

This lovely property in Abel Tasman National Park had beautiful views in the wetlands surrounded by a rainforest, wonderful food and an accommodating staff. A peaceful spot to relax and enjoy the the best of New Zealand. It was one of the highlights of our month's visit to this great country.

We recently spent two nights here and loved every minute of it, from eels, glow worms, hiking, seals and amazing people it was a wonderful get away from it all experience. No TV's LOVED that. The staff were extraordinarily friendly and loved their jobs. Food was fantastic.. Would highly recommend especially if you like walking adventures etc. Easily accessible by... More

Three nights at the end of the season but during the best summer NZ has had in my memory - the lodge was almost empty and the staff were relaxed so extremely helpful and friendly. The superior room was clean and comfortable, a lovely little balcony overlooking the wetlands. The food was excellent though probably a bit rich - quite... More

My parents-in-law-to-be suggested we check out this venue for a weekend as a possible wedding venue. I had some girlfriends who said it was stunning and lovely and also recommended it. It must have gone down hill since they stayed there as it was very disappointing! Here was our experience: - stains on bedsheets - unclear what is complimentary in... More

This is basically a good hotel, but greatly overpriced for what it delivers. The room was large and well equiped. The restaurant dinner was very good and fairly priced. Breakfast service was poor and buffet was uninspiring. Staff were friendly and helpful. Clearly there are additional costs of operating a hotel in this isolated location, but they are certainly capitalising... More
